Mahindra XUV 3XO EV expected to be one of the new electric vehicles launched by the brand this year; competing with Tata Punch EV and Nexon EV
Mahindra & Mahindra last year launched the XUV 3XO, an updated version of the XUV300 with significant design and feature upgrades. Building on this success, the company is now preparing to launch an electric version of the compact SUV, which is expected to hit the market in 2025.
Test prototypes of the XUV 3XO EV have surfaced several times, suggesting that its launch is imminent. The electric SUV will feature LED projector headlights and unique C-shaped LED daytime running lights. Judging from recent spy shots, the alloy wheels are similar to those found on the standard XUV 3XO, replacing the Y-shaped design seen on earlier prototypes.
The Mahindra XUV 3XO EV has its charging port located above the right front fender and comes with a subtly redesigned front grille and redesigned front bumper. At the rear, the connected LED taillights will be carried over from the XUV 3XO, while the bumper may get minor tweaks. To differentiate it from the ICE version, the electric car is expected to come with new paint options.

However, the interior will remain largely unchanged, retaining the familiar cabin design of the petrol and diesel models. The upcoming compact electric SUV will retain the same dashboard design as the XUV 3XO and offer features such as a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The electric car is designed to be a five-seater and will compete with rivals such as the Tata Punch EV.
It sits below the XUV400 in Mahindra’s lineup and is designed to meet the growing demand for cost-effective electric vehicles in the market. The Mahindra XUV 3XO EV is likely to come with a 34.5 kWh battery pack, similar to the lower version of the XUV400. This setup is expected to provide a range of approximately 375-400 kilometers on a full charge.

In addition, the electric SUV will also support DC fast charging for faster charging times, enhancing the practicality of daily commuting and long-distance travel. It will offer a range of premium features including a fully digital instrument console, a 360-degree camera system and wireless smartphone charging. It also comes with a seven-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, dual-zone automatic climate control, electric parking brake with auto-hold function, blind-sight monitor, adjustable head restraints, six airbags and more.
