BMW Motorrad has teased the new F 900 GS on social media, hinting that it will be launched in our market soon. The new GS is the successor to the F 850 GS, which is priced starting at Rs 12.95 lakh in India. It has several upgrades over its predecessor, such as a new chassis, updated styling and a larger displacement engine. The new F 900 GS has a more streamlined design with a focus on convenience and ergonomics. It features a raked front windscreen, a white exposed subframe, an enduro-style seat, LED lighting, a large TFT instrument panel and wire-spoke wheels.
The new BMW F900 GS is around 14 kg lighter than the F850 GS, thanks to the new engine and the removal of the huge front beak etc. Although the official launch date has not been announced yet, the motorcycle is expected to be launched in India soon.

BMW F 900 GS: More highlights
The BMW F900 GS is powered by a thoroughly reworked 895cc liquid-cooled parallel twin engine mated to a 6-speed gearbox. It produces a maximum power output of 105bhp at 8500rpm and a peak torque of 93Nm at 6750rpm. The motorcycle is equipped with an adjustable monoshock at the rear and an aluminum double swing arm and inverted front forks at the front. There are two 305mm brake discs at the front and a single 265mm brake disc at the rear. In terms of features, the F900 GS includes ABS, riding modes, keyless start and traction control.
Although it has not been officially launched yet, the BMW F 900 GS is likely to hit the Indian market by the end of August with a price tag between Rs 1.30 lakh and Rs 1.45 lakh. It will compete with the Honda XL750 Transalp and Triumph Tiger 900.
