The updated Hero Mavrick 440 will get a price hike or may be launched as a new top-spec version while retaining the base price
EICMA 2024 is proving to be a very busy event for Hero MotoCorp. The company is showcasing four new products and showcasing many others on this global stage. One of the key showcases is the updated Hero Mavrick 440, which comes with improved features and components. Let’s take a look.
Update hero Mavrick 440
At the prestigious EICMA 2024 stage, Hero MotoCorp launched a new version of its global electric scooter, Vida Z. Debuting the company’s first 250cc engine, we saw the Xtreme 250R street bare and Karizma XMR 250 supersport. Finally, we also saw Hero show off the Xpusle 210 which has undergone a major design overhaul.
While the four new motorcycles stole the show, the reveal of the updated Hero Mavrick 440 took a back seat. However, the company deserves praise for its efforts to overhaul its premium car lineup. Hero has even invested heavily in premium Premia dealers to cater to the pricier bikes.
Currently, the Mavrick 440 is Hero’s largest motorcycle yet. It is derived from the 440 platform jointly developed by Hero MotoCorp and Harley-Davidson. Both brands benefit from this platform. The Harley X440 is positioned as a higher-end model, and it has some attributes to justify that label.
The Mavrick 440 is positioned lower than the X440 in the hierarchy, and its gorgeous features and equipment are slightly inferior. Now, Hero is changing that and showing off a more equipped version of the Mavrick 440, with the same equipment found on the Harley-Davidson X440.
What are the new features?
To improve the look and feel of the Mavrick 440, Hero added some premium touches that are only seen on the pricier Harley X440. These are the USD telescopic front forks, which come in a lovely gold hue, and the more sophisticated TFT instrument cluster, which features advanced connectivity features like Bluetooth and navigation.
With the addition of the USD fork, the Mavrick 440’s handling characteristics will also be improved, just like its overall design quotient. One should expect sharper handling and more steering feedback. With the addition of the TFT color instrument cluster, the overall premium rate has increased.
At the heart of the updated Hero Mavrick 440 comes the same 440cc oil-cooled single-cylinder engine that produces 27 bhp and 36 Nm, mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Interestingly, the curb weight has dropped from 191kg to 189kg, a reduction of 2kg. The rollout timetable for India has not yet been announced.
