Vinfast VF7, VF9 SUV unveiled at Bharat Mobile Exhibition

With ambitious plans for the Indian market, Vinfast is building a massive electric vehicle factory in Tamil Nadu with an investment of around Rs 4,000 crore

Vinfast recently released a teaser video confirming its participation at the Bharat Mobile Global Expo 2025. The Vietnamese multinational car company will showcase its two electric SUVs – VF7 and VF9. The event provides Vinfast with an excellent opportunity to gather feedback from enthusiasts, potential buyers and other stakeholders.

Vinfast VF7 – 5-seater electric SUV

The Vinfast VF7 is one of the brand’s sportiest creations, measuring 4,545 mm long, 1,890 mm wide and 1,635.75 mm high. Its wheelbase is 2,840 mm. Some key highlights include the signature full-width LED DRLs, trapezoidal housings for the lighting elements, and a curved engine cover with unique grooves. Sleek black fenders, thick body cladding, door moldings and large 20-inch alloy wheels give it a more attractive side profile.

Other highlights include flush door handles, blacked-out pillars and dual-tone ORVMs with integrated turn signals. The tapering roofline further enhances the sporty feel. The rear of the Vinfast VF7 features a steeply raked windshield, a prominent roof spoiler, a shark fin antenna and a layered tailgate design. The lighting elements at the rear are similar to those seen at the front.

There are two VF7 models available in the international market: Eco and Plus. While the two have the same dimensions, the differences lie in the powertrain and equipment list. Both models come with a 75.3 kWh battery. But the Eco variant has a single motor setup as compared to the dual motors used by the Plus variant. Power outputs are 201 hp/310 Nm and 348 hp/500 Nm respectively.

The Eco variant comes in FWD variant, while the Plus variant comes in AWD variant. Both variants of the Vinfast VF7 come with ADAS features such as Highway Assist (Level 2), Lane Centering Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control and Emergency Lane Keeping Assist. The range of the top-spec Plus variant is 431 km (WLTP).

Vinfast VF9 – 7-seater premium electric SUV

Measuring 5,119 mm in length, the Vinfast VF9 has a sporty appearance and strong road presence. Some of the key features include stylish LED headlights and LED DRLs, sculpted bonnet and a large enclosed grille. The side profile features sporty alloy wheels, flush door handles and black pillars. The curvy aerodynamic design is an absolute visual delight. This is especially true with vibrant color options like Crimson Red, Vinfast Blue, and Jet Black.

The Vinfast VF9 comes equipped with premium features such as a 15.6-inch infotainment system, keyless entry, air quality control, heated steering wheel and a panoramic fixed glass sunroof. The safety suite includes comprehensive ADAS functionality. Users also have access to a wide range of connectivity options.

Talking about performance, Vinfast VF9 uses a 123 kWh battery pack. Featuring a dual-motor AWD setup, the output is 402 hp and 620 Nm. These specifications are identical for the Eco and Plus versions of the VF9. However, the Eco version has a higher range of 531 km, while the Plus version has a range of 468 km. Both models can be charged from 10% to 70% in about 35 minutes.
