VLF Tennis Electric Scooter Clock 300 copies available for pre-order

Motohaus India Managing Director Tushar Shelke said on the sidelines of the recently concluded India Bike Week 2024 that Motohaus’ newly launched VLF Tennis electric scooter has received over 300 bookings within a month of its launch in India in mid-November. Italian VLF (Velocifero) and British Brixton Motorcycles entered the Indian market on November 18 via Kolhapur KAW Veloce Motors, a company responsible for manufacturing and distribution in the country. VLF has launched the high-end electric scooter Tennis, while Brixton has launched the Crossfire 500X, Crossfire 500XC, Cromwell 1200 and Cromwell 1200X.

Priced at Rs 1.30 lakh ex-showroom, the VLF Tennis features a neo-retro design that is reminiscent of timeless Italian scooters. The scooter features a 1.5kW hub motor powered by a 2.5kWh battery pack. VLF claims a range of 130 kilometers and a top speed of 65 kilometers per hour. The Tennis is fitted with 12-inch wheels at both ends, with telescopic forks and single shock absorbers. The product is being assembled at the brand’s Kolhapur plant in Maharashtra.

Brixton Motorcycles: Prices, Specs

As for Brixton, the Crossfire 500X, Crossfire 500XC, Cromwell 1200 and Cromwell 1200X are launched at Rs 4.74 lakh, Rs 5.19 lakh, Rs 7.84 lakh and Rs 9.11 lakh respectively. Prices are ex-showroom. The first two are based on the 500cc platform, while the latter two are larger-capacity 1,200cc twin-cylinder motorcycles.

The Brixton Crossfire 500X is a cafe racer with a rugged setup and a 47bhp twin-cylinder liquid-cooled engine, while the Crossfire 500XC is a scrambler with the same engine as the 500X. The Scrambler weighs 195kg, 5kg more than the cafe racer, and has a higher seat height of 839mm. As for 1,200cc motorcycles, the Cromwell 1200 is a retro-designed roadster similar to the old British motorcycles of the 1950s and 1960s. The Cromwell 1200X is a Scrambler with a similar retro design, but with some visual differences such as a small fly screen, headlight grille, and blocky tires. Both bikes are powered by an 82bhp twin-cylinder engine displacing 1,222cc.

In a bid to expand its product portfolio in India, Brixton is believed to be launching another motorcycle called Storr 500 here. Shown in production-ready form at EICMA 2024, the Brixton Storr 500 will be a neo-retro motorcycle inspired by the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450. It will be powered by a 486cc parallel twin-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that will deliver 47bhp at 8,500rpm and peak torque of 43Nm at 6,700rpm.
