Volkswagen is expected to introduce two new premium vehicles in the Indian market through the CBU route. These will cater to the speed and performance of Indian car enthusiasts. The products in question are the Golf GTI and Tiguan R-Line, both of which are now listed on Volkswagen’s official Indian website. Let’s take a closer look.

Volkswagen Golf GTI and Tiguan R-Line

The world-renowned and iconic Volkswagen Golf GTI and Tiguan R-Line are entering the Indian market. The company has confirmed these developments not long ago and is speculated to be launched around the second quarter of 2025. The launch may be around the corner, as the golf GTI was recently discovered in India without any camouflage.

Now, the Golf GTI and Tiguan R-Line are listed on the official website of Volkswagen India. The company mentioned that both cars will be launched soon, and the exact release date is still in the package. Both vehicles will be brought into the country via the CBU route and will be priced at a premium due to related taxes and tariffs.

Golf GTI

The legendary golf GTI is launched in India for the first time, and it is likely the hot cake here. It will bring a lot of impact thanks to its 2.0-liter TSI Turbo petrol engine (EA888 EVO4). The engine is able to generate a peak power of 261 bhp and a peak torque of 370 nm. It will be paired with the Lightning fast 7-speed DSG transmission unit.

The maximum speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h and can only sprint 0-100 km/h in 5.9 seconds. It is an FWD vehicle that can be used with a sporty, completely independent front and rear suspension setup. In the global market, it also has a standard front locking difference, providing excellent appeal and cornering ability.

External highlights include LED matrix headlights, large grille, 18-inch Richmond black alloy wheels, GTI badges, red accents, dual exhaust tips, and more. Tiguan R-Line

Compared to the second-generation Tiguan sold in India, the upcoming third-generation Tiguan R-Line is a major upgrade in design, functionality and equipment. For beginners, it adheres to the new design language of the masses, which is more bent and soothing than the sharp design language of the scalpel on the second generation model.

Especially the R-Line model, it is top-notch decoration and sporty appearance. External highlights include IQ matrix LED headlights, bold grille, 20-inch alloy wheels, 3D LED taillights, flow lines, chrome trim, for sophisticated attraction, roof railings, rear privacy glass, exquisite ADAS Suite, and more.
