Volkswagen Taigun gets huge discount of Rs 2.3 lakh

India’s big festive season is here, bringing not only brand new cars but also a ton of deep discounts on cars that are already on sale. The Volkswagen Taigun compact SUV, for example, is now available at a massive discount of Rs 2.3 lakh. That’s not the only Volkswagen car that’s getting a big discount, though. The best-selling Virtus sedan is also available at a discount of Rs 1.25 lakh. The Tiguan SUV, Volkswagen’s most expensive product in India right now, is available at a massive discount of Rs 4.2 lakh. All in all. August 2024 is going to be a good month for potential Volkswagen car and SUV buyers. Let’s get straight to the details now.

First, Tai Gun

The Volkswagen Taigun is a compact SUV that rivals the likes of the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos and is a true enthusiast’s choice as the 1.5-litre TSI turbocharged petrol engine and 7-speed dual-clutch DSG automatic gearbox are a match made in heaven. Volkswagen dealers have a fleet of Taigun SUVs from 2023 and are offering a discount of Rs 2.28 lakh on them. The Taigun with the huge discount is the 1.5-litre TSI turbocharged petrol engine model that comes with a 6-speed manual gearbox.

Other variants of the Taigun are also getting hefty discounts. For the 2024 model year, Volkswagen is offering a discount of Rs 1.2 lakh on the 1.0 TSI variant, while the 2024 1.5 TSI variants are available with discounts of up to Rs 1.87 lakh. All in all, it’s a good time to buy the Taigun, whose 1-litre, 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine produces 110 hp – 170 Nm of torque, while the 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine produces 150 hp – 250 Nm of torque. The smaller engine is available with a choice of 6-speed manual and torque converter automatic gearboxes, while the larger engine is available with a choice of 6-speed manual and 7-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic gearboxes.

Now, for Virtus

The Virtus, India’s best-selling C-segment sedan, is now available with discounts of up to Rs 1.25 lakh on the 1-litre TSI automatic and Rs 70,000 on the 1.5-litre TSI engine. The Virtus shares its engine and gearbox with the Taigun but is roomier and offers a better ride. It is longer and gives it a true sedan feel. But it lacks the extra ground clearance offered by the Taigun, not to mention the SUV styling.

Finally, the big brother – Tiguan

The Tiguan is the best-selling Volkswagen SUV globally and the flagship product of the German automaker in India. The Tiguan is currently available at a discount of Rs 4.2 lakh in India. The massive discount includes a cash discount of Rs 75,000, an exchange bonus of Rs 75,000, a corporate discount of Rs 1 lakh, a special discount of Rs 84,000, and a 4-year Volkswagen Service Value package. All these offers take the total discount to Rs 4.2 lakh.

The Tiguan is a rugged SUV with a five-seater layout sold in India and is powered by a 2-litre, 4-cylinder TSI petrol engine that produces 190 hp of peak power and 320 Nm of peak torque. An all-wheel drive layout is standard, along with a 7-speed dual-clutch DSG automatic gearbox.
