
Virtus and Taigun launch “more for less” pricing and new product line structure
Volkswagen India has launched Virtus GT Plus Sport and Virtus GT Line and updated its product line structure for its India 2.0 models. The new product line focuses on delivering enhanced functionality through more aggressive designs, targeting customers looking for a sportier aesthetic at a competitive price.
Virtus GT Line and GT Plus Sport: updated with new features

The Virtus GT Plus Sport and GT Line feature a black-themed exterior design with updates such as black LED headlights, black front grille and 16-inch ‘Razor’ black alloy wheels. On the interior, both models are equipped with features such as a 20.32cm digital cockpit, an electric sunroof and black leatherette upholstery with red ambient lighting.
The Virtus GT Plus Sport is powered by a 1.5-litre TSI EVO petrol engine mated to a 6-speed manual or 7-speed DSG gearbox and includes additional features such as ventilated front seats, electric driver and co-driver seats, and Advanced infotainment system with amplifier and subwoofer. The GT Line, meanwhile, is powered by a 1.0l TSI engine with a choice of manual or automatic gearbox.
Highline Plus variant introduction
Volkswagen has also launched new Highline Plus variants for the Virtus and Taigun. This model is powered by a 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine and comes with a 20.32cm digital cockpit, electric sunroof, KESSY keyless entry and automatic headlights. Prices for the Virtus start at INR 13.87 lakh (ex-showroom) for the Highline Plus and the Taigun starts at INR 14.26 lakh (ex-showroom).
Taigun GT series function upgrade


The Taigun GT Line is functionally similar to the Virtus GT Line, with upgrades including a digital cockpit, rain-sensing wipers and auto-dimming IRVM. The updates are aimed at enhancing the Taigun’s appeal in the highly competitive compact SUV segment.
New Chrome and Sport offer structure
Volkswagen is introducing a new offer structure for its Virtus and Taigun models, divided into ‘Chrome’ and ‘Sport’ categories. The “Chrome” variant focuses on offering a more refined design, while the “Sport” variant caters to customers looking for a sportier, darker theme aesthetic.
Entertainment and security enhancements
Volkswagen has also added a subwoofer and amplifier as standard equipment on the Topline models of the Virtus and Taigun. Safety features on the GT Line and GT Plus Sport include 6 airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), ABS and additional driver assistance systems.
The updates are part of Volkswagen India’s strategy to refresh its product range and cater to changing customer preferences with more feature-rich and competitively priced options.
