Volvo XC40 Recharge, rebranded as EX40, now priced at Rs 56.10

Volvo India has officially dropped the ‘Recharge’ name for the country’s first electric SUV, the XC40 Recharge, in a bid to simplify naming to avoid confusion among buyers. As a result, the Volvo XC40 Recharge is now called the EX40. Along with this update, the price of the SUV has been increased by Rs 1.15 lakh. According to the official information released on the website, the Volvo EX40 is priced at 5.61 million rupees, an increase of 5.495 million rupees. Prices are ex-showroom. Still, the company is continuing to sell the XC40 Recharge, which is only available in single-motor configuration while supplies last. We expect the C40 Recharge coupe-SUV to undergo the same changes soon. Thereafter, the C40 Recharge will be renamed EC40.

Volvo EX40: Powertrain

The C40 Recharge is currently sold in two-motor (all-wheel drive) AWD configuration, while the Volvo EX40 is rear-wheel drive and comes with a 69kWh battery. The single-motor RWD setup produces 235bhp and 420Nm of peak torque, and the battery has a claimed range of 475km on the WLTP cycle. Volvo claims the electric car can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.3 seconds. Top speed is marked at 180 km/h. In addition to 11kW AC charging, the vehicle also supports DC fast charging, which can be fully charged in 34 minutes.

Volvo EX40: Features

In terms of features, the electric SUV comes standard with a Harman Kardon sound system and a 360-degree camera. 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 12-inch digital instrument cluster, panoramic sunroof, electric front seats, two-zone climate control, Pixel LED headlights, 19-inch alloys, parking assist and wireless charging. XC40 charging.
