Vredestein tyres now standard on the new MINI Cooper models

To enhance vehicle performance and safety, the BMW Group has announced that the new MINI Cooper will be equipped with a range of Vredestein tyres as original equipment (OE) on its convertible, sedan and five-door models in Europe. This collaboration marks the fifth BMW Group model to be equipped with Vredestein tyres, further strengthening the relationship between the automaker and Apollo Tyres Ltd.

Custom tire selection for every season

MINI Cooper owners can now enjoy dedicated tyre options for different driving conditions. Vredestein Ultrac, Quatrac Pro and Wintrac Pro tyres will be fitted as standard, each designed to optimise performance and safety in a variety of climate conditions.

  • Summer tires: The Vredestein Ultrac in size 215/40 R 18 89Y XL will become the default choice for summer driving. The Ultrac is renowned for its excellent wet grip performance and has an “A” rating on the EU tire label. Its optimized sidewall structure and increased flex zone ensure a comfortable and quiet ride even at higher speeds.
  • All-season tires: For those who prefer an all-season tire, the Quatrac Pro is available in the 215/45 R 17 91H XL size. Praised for its excellent handling and short braking distances in all conditions, this ultra-high performance tire is the ideal choice for drivers seeking versatility.
  • Winter tires: In markets where a winter tyre option is required, the MINI Cooper will be equipped with the Vredestein Wintrac Pro in size 195/50 R 17 89H XL. The Wintrac Pro carries the “three-peak mountain snowflake” logo and is certified for use in severe winter conditions. Its design includes an angled centre groove and thin shoulder grooves to enhance grip and traction on snow while providing wet grip class “B” on the EU tyre label.

Strengthening long-term partnerships

This latest agreement builds on the BMW Group’s existing collaboration with Apollo Tyres, which began last year and already includes the supply of Vredestein Ultrac tyres for the BMW X1, X2, 5 Series and 2 Series Active Tourer models. With the addition of the MINI Cooper to the range, Apollo Tyres continues to play a key role in the BMW Group’s commitment to performance, driver satisfaction, safety and efficiency.

Benoit Rivallant, Chief Commercial Officer, Apollo Tyres Ltd., highlighted the significance of the partnership, saying: “Our expanding partnership with the BMW Group is a testament to our commitment to creating multi-functional tyres that align with the automaker’s strategic focus on performance, driver satisfaction, safety and efficiency.”

Comprehensive support for MINI owners

To further support the MINI customer experience throughout the vehicle-buying process, the Vredestein Ultrac, Quatrac Pro and Wintrac Pro tyres will also be available on the replacement market through BMW Group franchised dealers. This ensures that MINI Cooper drivers can maintain the high standards of performance and safety these tyres provide, regardless of the season or driving conditions.

As the new MINI Cooper hits the road, the inclusion of Vredestein tyres as standard underscores the BMW Group’s commitment to delivering a premium driving experience, with tyres that are as versatile and capable as the vehicle they support.
