Here’s a recap of the latest customs and international trade news:

Customs and Border Protection (CBP)

United States Trade Representative (USTR)

U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)

  • U.S. Food and Drug Administration Announce Unified Human Food Program, a new model for field operations and other modernization efforts. It is the largest restructuring in the agency’s modern history, affecting more than 8,000 employees.

Federal Trade Commission (FTC)

  • Federal Trade Commission Sending Offering more than $88,000 in refunds to consumers who purchased Chinese-made measuring cups labeled “Made in the USA” by Instant Brands, maker of Pyrex brand kitchen and home products.

  • Signed into law by the President S.794 – CTPAT Pilot Program Act of 2023. The law requires the Department of Homeland Security to conduct a pilot program to evaluate whether allowing certain entities, such as third-party logistics providers, to participate in CTPAT will enhance port security, combat terrorism, prevent supply chain security breaches, or otherwise satisfy the requirements of CTPAT.
