Now that Cybertruck owners are starting to face reality, the answer may not be so obvious anymore

There’s no doubt that the Tesla Cybertruck is eye-catching. Love it or hate it, it’s likely to divide opinion for decades to come. However, the silver truck’s initial luster appears to be fading.
The hype seems to be wearing off, which brings us to our question today. Which car, truck, or SUV is the most hyped or overrated on the market right now?

It would have been easy to leave this feature off the Cybertruck for a while. It costs far more than initially promised, it doesn’t have as much range as initially promised, and despite its claims to be extremely rugged, it tends to get stuck somewhere quite often. Sure, some of the technical engineering is impressive, but how many people are excited about a 48-volt system? Not many.
This opens the door to other recent models that are probably the most overhyped vehicles on the market today. To clear my bias, I discussed this topic with a large group of friends and family, and the responses were surprising. One person mentioned all the electric trucks on the market, including not only the Tesla, but also the GMC Hummer, Ford Lightning, and Rivian R1T.
Others turn their noses up at hardcore off-roaders like the Jeep Wrangler and Toyota 4Runner. The former can get expensive quickly. The interior quality is low and the cabins are often noisy.
Some say it’s not fun to drive on the road and that “owners treat the car like their entire personality.” The Toyota may have those traits, but frankly, it’s probably better suited for daily driving.
Finally, there’s no way the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 isn’t going to be in this discussion. And that’s not just me saying this, either. Several people I spoke to used this as their answer to this question. And it’s easy to see why. Sure, it’s the most powerful stock muscle car ever made, but it’s also got an interior that’s over a decade old, and it costs well into the six figures.
