When Jaguar’s bestseller finally gets the ax

Jaguar is taking the unusual step of paring down its entire current range of cars to reposition itself as a more exclusive all-electric brand, but one of its cars will survive longer than the rest.

otoka reported F-Pace Even if Jaguar’s home market in the UK is axed, the brand will still survive in some markets until 2026, resulting in the brand not having any new cars to sell in that market until 2026.

“We have reviewed all Jaguar nameplates,” Jaguar Land Rover CEO Adrian Mader said in remarks reported by the media. otoka.

We’ve contacted Jaguar Land Rover Australia to confirm if Australia is one of the markets where the F-Pace has been sold before.

Jaguar’s XE and XF sedans remain on its Australian website and national price lists, but only in second-hand or demo versions. Production of these models, as well as the F-Type sports car, ended earlier this year.

otoka According to reports, E-Pace and I-Pace production at Magna Steyr’s Austrian plant will also end this year, with the F-Pace becoming the brand’s last model.

Jaguar sold nearly 22,000 F-Pace vehicles globally last year, more than the rest of its six-model range combined.

Its sales also more than doubled that of the second-place I-Pace, with sales of 7,000 units.

Likewise, Jaguar sold 360 F-Paces in Australia last year, more than all its other models combined. It accounts for 62% of Jaguar sales.

As of the end of October, Jaguar had sold 384 F-Pace units in Australia this year, a 44.9% increase from the first nine months of 2023.

It’s one of several Jaguars to see sales surge this year, with the brand’s year-to-date deliveries up 50.5% to 656, ahead of Maserati (329) and Alfa Romeo (510). sales), but lower than Genesis (1152).

Because Jaguar shares showroom space with Land Rover models, including SUVs with the Defender, Discovery and Range Rover nameplates, it’s easier for parent company Jaguar Land Rover to phase out the current lineup even if new models aren’t ready for sale.

Mader said that after the XE, XF, E-Pace and I-Pace were phased out in the UK earlier this year otoka: “None of these vehicles are where we make any money, so we are replacing them with new vehicles on new design architecture.”

Jaguar will unveil a concept car on December 2 previewing its upcoming all-electric model lineup, which will reportedly include a large sedan, a large SUV and a four-door GT to compete with the Porsche Taycan , all based on a new platform called JEA.
