Winery Destinations Across the State – Meet (Conference |

By Rebekah Icenesse

Head into the fall with a trip to Missouri to explore meeting destinations that are both beautiful and delicious. There’s no better place to relax than at a winery, where you can wine and dine with your companions. The following destinations offer plenty of opportunities to add charm and elegance to your next meeting or event.

Augusta, Missouri

Known for its historic town, Augusta is a charming destination. In 1980, the Augusta AVA (American Viticultural Area) was federally recognized as the first wine region in the United States. At Augusta’s four wineries, you can taste history with every glass of wine. Mt. Pleasant Estates is Augusta’s oldest winery and offers wine lovers a renovated 4,000 square foot tasting room. The Terrace Room can accommodate up to 200 guests and offers stunning views of the Missouri River Valley, while the Crush Room is ideal for intimate gatherings.

Located across the street from Mt. Pleasant, Augusta Winery pays attention to detail and every bottle of wine is carefully crafted. With a tasting room, outdoor patio, and wine and beer garden, guests can choose from multiple locations for meetings. Montelle Winery and Balducci Vineyards are also popular award-winning wineries that offer great gathering spaces.

Hermann, Missouri

Hermann is well known for its tasting rooms and wineries, where visitors can sample local wines and learn about American history. Stone Mountain Winery is Missouri’s oldest and most awarded winery, offering a variety of indoor and outdoor meeting spaces. Visitors can explore the cellar door and learn about the history of the area while tasting a variety of wines. Stone Mountain also features private event spaces: the Shirley Room can accommodate up to 300 people, and the Vintage 1847 Restaurant can accommodate up to 48 people for a private dining experience.

Located nearby, the Inn at Hermannhof, one of the Hermann family’s early buildings, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and exudes a traditional German small town atmosphere. The Inn at Hermannhof offers 14 event spaces for planners to host gatherings, such as the Hermannhof Winery and Tasting Room, the Court Gardens, the Celebration Hall, the Tin Mill Restaurant and Terrace, and the Hillside Terrace.
