The Citroen AMI is brand new in 2025, but for those who want more characters, especially the retro turning, now there are Type-AMI. This conversion kit was produced by Italian Coachbuilder Caselani and Citroen Style Center, and transforming small electric vehicles into something that felt like it was directly rolling out of the village after the war.

The person behind the design David OBENDORFER has a record of re-conceiving the classic Citroen, not to mention other suggestions that have never been realized, such as the Mercedes-Benz icon E W115 and BMW CS CS Vintage Tributes.

He is the same designer responsible for the H -shaped and Fourgonnette Van Conversions, which makes the Citroen pullover, jumping, and modernization of SpaceTourer and Berlingo, while maintaining its old -fashioned charm. Like these models, AMI Type-AMI draws inspiration from the popular public business type H (HY) produced by 1947 to 1981.

Nostalgia

The conversion is achieved by a set of glass fiber body panels. The glass fiber bodybody imitates the unique corrugated metal of the original type H. This kit has all necessary brackets and screws, while maintaining the greenhouse of the supply car, the door mechanism and the lighting unit remain unchanged. Buyers can choose from nine standard colors, but Caselani will also provide custom -defined paint matching for those who want to be more unique.

According to OBENDORFER, at first, the AMI type was a one -time project of the company’s founder Fabrizio Caselani. However, after the first run prototype was displayed in the 24-hour Citroen 2CV competition held in Belgium’s Spa-Francorchamps, the decision was a decision provided by it as a commercial product.

In order to ensure that the design is faithful to Citroen, the final version has improved the opinions of a special team of the Citroen Style Center, which expressed his respect for the approval of French car manufacturers.

When the outside is comprehensively transformed, everything else remains unchanged. Ami Type-AMI retains 8-hp (6 kW / 8 PS) motors and 5.5 kWh lithium-ion batteries. The maximum speed is limited to 28 miles/h (45 km/h), which is classified as a four -fold body, which means that in Europe, even a 14 -year -old child can lag behind the steering wheel, just like the closely related Phytet Fiat Topolino is as electric as Opel Rocks.

Ami Type-AMI will debut on Retomobile Show, Paris on February 5th. The booking has been opened at 13,000 euros ($ 13,400). For the existing Citroen AMI owner who wants to upgrade the car, the price of only a conversion kit is about 5,000 euros ($ 5,200).
