Worldecr | OFAC sanctions oil broker, tanker operator,

The Treasury Office of Foreign Assets Control (“OFAC”) and the U.S. State Department said they imposed “sanctions on more than 30 people and vessels in multiple jurisdictions for their role in brokering Iran’s oil-related products.

OfAC said that among the approved people, “the oil brokers of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and tanker operators and cartoonists in Hong Kong, India and the head of the Republic of China (PRC), the Iranian National Petroleum Corporation, and the Iranian Oil Terminal Company, whose operations contribute to the Iranian Destabilization tababilized activities.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said: “Iran continues to rely on a dark network of ships, shippers and brokers to promote its oil sales and fund its unstable activities. The United States will use all of our available tools to target all aspects of Iran’s oil supply chain, and anyone doing it on Iran’s oil will be subject to significant sanctions risks.
