Xiaomi aims to sell more electric cars in China

Not long ago, high-quality German cars were regarded as the height of Chinese luxury goods. In fact, for brands like Mercedes-Benz and Porsche, China has always been their largest market, with sales exceeding all other countries. However, with the emergence of new Chinese brands, local preferences have begun to shift to local companies and their models. Xiaomi is a perfect example.

Xiaomi is one of China’s largest electronics and consumer goods manufacturers, everything from vacuum cleaners to computer monitors, refrigerators, suitcases and smartphones. The brand’s boss then decided to build an electric car, and unlike the founder of the billionaire, Xiaomi has successfully launched its first EV SU7.

Customer delivery for SU7 started less than a year ago, and the company has set its sights on German institutions. This year, Xiaomi aims to sell 350,000 cars in China, thanks to the combination of the SU7 and its Tesla model rival YU7. Handelsblatt reported that if Xiaomi could sell 350,000 electric vehicles this year, it would surpass the combined combined sales of China Volkswagen, Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Porsche last year.

Xiaomi is not only at home in China, but also to develop its electric vehicle business. Earlier this month, company president William Lu said they were working to enter more markets. While he didn’t say when it was exact, he promised they would do it “in the next few years.”

The arrival of Yu7 will be an important moment for the brand. SUVs continue to sell like hot cakes around the world, and Yu7 is likely to sell SU7. Delivery will begin in June or July.
