The new Honda Amaze sedan will be launched on December 4, with unabashed front and rear designs

The highly anticipated 2025 Honda Amaze has been revealed online through leaked images ahead of its official launch on December 4, 2024. Positioned to rival the upcoming Maruti Dzire, Hyundai Aura and Tata Tigor, the new Honda Amaze marks a major step forward for Honda. The brand occupies a niche in the highly competitive sub-4 meter sedan market.

An evolving legacy: 2025 Honda Amaze

The Honda Amaze has been a key model since its debut in 2013, followed by the second-generation model in 2018. Now, the third generation Amaze is ready to go a step further with updated styling, advanced features and an increased focus on safety. The new Amaze is based on a modified version of the Honda City platform, which is shared with the Honda Elevate, ensuring economies of scale in production.

Spy photos reveal major design updates, with sleeker silhouettes and sharper details. Key exterior upgrades include a redesigned honeycomb hexagonal front grille, sleeker LED headlights with integrated daytime running lights, and an attached chrome strip above the grille. Other enhancements such as a clamshell bonnet and a larger air dam give the new Amaze a modern and premium look.

Interior and features

While we don’t have spy shots of the interior, Honda has shared a teaser of the same. On the interior, the new Amaze is expected to come with a more refined dual-tone cabin with improved features. A larger, freestanding touchscreen (likely an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities) will replace the current 7-inch screen. For added convenience, Honda could offer a wireless phone charger, a semi-digital driver’s display and a single-pane sunroof, similar to the setup found in the Honda City and Elevate.

Safety remains a top priority and the new Amaze is expected to come with six airbags as standard. Advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), 360-degree cameras and parking sensors may also appear in the model, but ADAS has not been officially confirmed. Other safety features such as ABS with EBD, Hill Hold Assist and extensive structural reinforcements are also expected.

Performance and powertrain

The 2025 Honda Amaze will be powered by a 1.2-liter 4-cylinder petrol engine that produces 90 hp and 110 Nm of torque. The engine will be mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox or a CVT gearbox and a CNG variant may be launched later. Unlike its predecessor, the new Amaze will not be available in a diesel option, reflecting the industry’s shift towards petrol and alternative fuel options.

Taking into account the plethora of upgrades, the 2025 Honda Amaze is expected to be priced slightly higher than the outgoing model, which is currently priced between Rs 7.30,000 and Rs 10,000 (ex-showroom). Exact pricing will be announced at the official launch.
