2025 Yamaha YZF-R15 launched overseas with new features and

Japanese motorcycle manufacturer Yamaha has updated its entry-level sports motorcycle, the YZF-R15, for the Indonesian market. The sports motorcycle is packed with features, making it one of the best choices in its class. The next-generation model includes several features, such as smartphone connectivity, which are already available in the Indian-spec R15. Moreover, the exterior of the motorcycle has also been revamped with a new all-black paint job. Other available color options include grey/silver, grey/black, and blue. However, it is worth noting that despite the significant features and cosmetic updates, the motorcycle has retained its mechanical core.

2025 Yamaha YZF-R15: Features

Starting with the features, the 2025 Yamaha YZF-R15 has dual-channel ABS, traction control, slipper clutch, and quick shifter as standard. It also includes a fully digital instrument cluster that displays ride tracking, on-board diagnostics, scheduled maintenance reminders, and other information in addition to important details.

2025 Yamaha YZF-R15: Engine and Hardware

As mentioned earlier, the 2025 YZF-R15 retains the same engine as before. The motorcycle is powered by a 155cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine with variable valve actuation technology (VVT). The unit outputs a maximum power of 18.1bhp at 10,000rpm and a peak torque of 14.2Nm at 8,500rpm. It is mated to a six-speed gearbox.

In terms of hardware, the new R15 uses a single shock absorber at the rear and an inverted telescopic fork at the front. Apart from this, the motorcycle also comes with dual-channel ABS and disc brakes at both ends. The Indian-spec model also comes with traction control, while the Indonesian-spec model does not. The motorcycle uses a Deltabox frame, has a fuel tank capacity of 11 liters and a kerb weight of 141 kg. It uses 17-inch alloy wheels.

The pricing of the motorcycle has not been announced yet. The Yamaha R15 competes directly with the KTM RC 200 in the Indian market and is priced between Rs 1.83 lakh and Rs 1.98 lakh. Both prices are ex-showroom. It continues to be a competitive small sports motorcycle due to its blend of cutting-edge technology and reliable performance.
