Mother Nature has had an icy effect on much of the country, but that didn’t stop Mazda from unveiling the 2025 MX-5 Miata. It has largely carried over, but celebrated a milestone with a new 35th Anniversary Edition.
Mazda hasn’t revealed much about the car yet, but confirmed that the limited edition will debut at the 24 Hours of Daytona on January 24. It will feature an Artisan Red exterior, tan Nappa leather interior and a host of “special” touches. detail. “These will apparently include an individually numbered badge on the back of the door.

Pricing climbs from $28,985 to $29,330, except for the special edition. That’s an increase of $345, but it doesn’t sound like buyers will get anything for the extra money. However, the company did confirm that the range-topping MX-5 Grand Touring is now available in Deep Crystal Blue paint. It sounds like there might also be a new electric power steering system.
While it’s nothing to get excited about, the entry-level MX-5 Miata Sport comes with LED headlights, a black soft top and 16-inch alloy wheels with a metallic black finish. Buyers will also find a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a six-speaker sound system, and an 8.8-inch infotainment system with support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. They also come with a host of driver assistance systems, including smart brake support, lane departure warning and blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert.
The midlevel Club model starts at $32,830 and comes with a host of performance-focused upgrades. These include shock tower mounts, Bilstein dampers, and a limited-slip differential. They also come with Track mode, gloss black trim and larger 17-inch wheels.
Other highlights include heated seats with suede inserts and a nine-speaker Bose premium sound system. Buyers can also opt for a retractable hardtop and the $4,900 Brembo BBS Recaro package, which adds Brembo brakes, BBS wheels and heated Recaro sport seats.
Finally, there’s the MX-5 Miata Grand Touring, which starts at $34,630. Its interior has been upgraded with leather seats and bright silver accents. They also come with GPS navigation, automatic climate control and an auto-dimming rearview mirror with HomeLink. Buyers will also find additional safety features on models equipped with the automatic transmission, including automatic high beams, traffic sign recognition and adaptive cruise control.
Speaking of powertrains, all MX-5s are powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 181 hp (135 kW / 184 PS) and 151 lb-ft (205 Nm) of torque. A six-speed manual transmission is standard, although the Grand Touring also offers a six-speed automatic transmission as an option.
