In operation since 1881, Denver’s downtown landmark train station reopened in July 2014 following a $54 million renovation that included the creation of the Crawford Hotel. Denver Union Station completed major renovations this year and marked the 10th anniversary of this epic revitalization with a three-day community celebration from July 12-14. The renovation includes remodeling all 112 hotel guest rooms, redesigning the lobby and Cooper Lounge, and upgrading 8,000 square feet of meeting and event space.
Public events during the celebration weekend include Neighborhood Nights, Community Days, and a grand black-tie gala featuring music by the Colorado Symphony Quartet and DJ Chris, entertainment by local painter Grow Love, and live ice sculptures. The on-site restaurant and bar served refreshments to 500 attendees and raised more than $200,000 for more than 30 Colorado nonprofits.
