Toyota Camry Hybrid to go on sale in India tomorrow; here’s what you’ve got

The Toyota Camry Hybrid will be launched in India tomorrow with its hybrid powertrain offering a combination of luxury and fuel efficiency. The automaker recently shared several teaser images on its social media and website ahead of the launch. The new generation Camry made its global debut in November last year and is currently on sale in multiple international markets. This ninth-generation model combines a smooth driving experience with improved fuel economy, making it an attractive option for those looking for a more sustainable luxury sedan. The Camry Hybrid will feature a modern design, advanced safety features and a comfortable, well-appointed interior. As the demand for hybrid cars continues to grow in India, the Camry Hybrid will be a strong contender in the luxury sedan segment.

Toyota Camry Hybrid: Platform and Powertrain

The latest trailer gives us a glimpse of the new model and carries the slogan “Elegance at a Glance”. The upcoming model is built on the TNGA-K platform and displays completely different design elements compared to its predecessor.

The new Camry will retain its 2.5-liter hybrid engine and be available in front-wheel and all-wheel drive configurations. Front-wheel-drive models have two electric motors at the front with a combined power of 222 horsepower. AWD models add an extra motor at the rear, taking total output to 229bhp. Both models come with an eCVT automatic transmission. The brand has yet to reveal details about battery capacity or the vehicle’s all-electric range.

Toyota Camry Hybrid: Design

Design has always been one of the Camry’s strongest points, and Toyota plans to maintain that focus. In terms of appearance, the Camry will feature subtle design changes compared to the current India-spec model.

The teaser shows off sleeker LED headlights, C-shaped daytime running lights, a new grille with horizontal slats, and a redesigned bumper with larger air intakes. The 19-inch alloy wheels will have a new design and the sloping roofline will remain. The rear of the car will be equipped with new wrap-around LED taillights.

Toyota Camry Hybrid: Features

The 2025 version of the car will feature several new enhancements to its already extensive feature list. It will offer a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a digital driver display, both of which are expected to support wireless connectivity. The hybrid model will also include ventilated seats, a new steering wheel, a wireless charger, connected car technology, an improved center console, automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof, over-the-air (OTA) updates and a premium JBL audio system with nine speakers.

Toyota’s Safety Sense 3.0 will keep passengers safe with a host of advanced safety technologies such as rear cross-traffic alert, 360-degree camera, multiple airbags, blind motion monitoring, 10-inch HUD display and Level 2 ADAS lane keeping Assist, automatic high-beam, adaptive cruise control, pedestrian detection and road sign recognition, among other features.
