The new-generation Camry won’t have any direct rivals when it goes on sale, although it will soon face the Skoda Superb due out next year, while it may also compete with BYD’s Seal EV
The new Toyota Camry will be launched globally by the end of 2023 and has just been launched in India. It brings a host of design updates, color options and better on-board equipment, while the biggest changes will be seen in its engine lineup. The new Camry replaces its predecessor, which has been on sale in India since 2019 and received a mid-cycle refresh in 2022.
The new Camry is priced at Rs 48 lakh (excluding taxes) and is expected to reign supreme in the executive sedan segment once again with multiple features and safety updates. Unlike the LE, SE, XLE and XSE trim levels of its global counterpart, the Toyota Camry in India is launched in a fully loaded trim.
New Toyota Camry released
The India-spec Camry is very similar to the global-spec ninth-generation model. It features a new and improved design. The new Camry is built on the same TNGA-K platform as many Toyota and Lexus models, and has Toyota’s global design language. The 2025 Toyota Camry is 4,915 mm long, 1,839 mm wide, 1,445 mm high, and has a 2,825 mm long wheelbase.
Key updates to the new Camry include a new fascia with an extended front overhang, a lower roofline and a large front grille with a honeycomb pattern. It rides on new 19-inch alloy wheels. Exterior updates also include stylish LED headlights, C-shaped LED DRLs and C-shaped taillights as well as larger rear side glass.
Fully functional cabin
Inside, the new Camry comes with a host of new features and enhanced safety equipment. Globally, the Camry’s interior color schemes are Boulder or Black, Cockpit Red, and Light Grey. Leather upholstery with microfiber texture adds comfort. There’s a new 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 7-inch digital instrument cluster. The 10-inch HUD is also eye-catching.
It comes with a 9-speaker JBL audio system. Features also extend to ventilated/heated seats, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay with connected car technology. It also comes with a 360-degree camera and 5 USB ports on the front and rear. A wireless phone charging pad and a larger panoramic sunroof are other notable elements of the new Camry.
With Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, the Camry is safer than before. These include multiple airbags and ADAS, with features including dynamic radar cruise control with cornering deceleration, rear cross-traffic alert, blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control and lane departure alert with steering assist, and a pre-collision braking system wait. Gasoline hybrid system
Similar to the outgoing model, the ninth-generation Toyota Camry also comes with a gasoline hybrid powertrain. This 2.5-liter 4-cylinder gasoline engine is paired with dual electric motors for a total system output of 230 horsepower. An eCVT transmission powers its front wheels.
