- The SU7 Ultra features a carbon fiber body that generates more than 2,000 kg (4,400 lb) of downforce.
- Xiaomi is aiming to break the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT’s Nürburgring record of 7:07.55.
- This extreme electric sedan reaches 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 1.97 seconds.
Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun has approved the Wild SU7 Ultra to go into production, just a month after the Wild sedan was unveiled in prototype form.
This crazy, track-focused version of the SU7 benefits from a host of daring aerodynamic add-ons, including a massive rear wing, flared fenders, a new front splitter, side skirts, and special racing wheels. It also uses a new electric motor built in-house that produces a staggering 1,527 horsepower.

Given the SU7 Ultra’s powerful performance, it’s no surprise that owners will have to upgrade gradually to explore all its capabilities. Mr. Lei said that drivers will need to go through gradual testing to unlock the car’s potential, although the details of the testing are unclear. Hopefully, the testing will also include different driving modes that limit power.
Xiaomi will open orders for the car in the first quarter of 2025. No pricing details have been announced yet, but it will obviously cost more than the standard model, but will still easily beat competitors such as the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT.
One of the most impressive things about the SU7 Ultra isn’t its 2,145 kg (4,729 lb) of downforce, or that it’s more powerful than a Bugatti Chiron, but that it weighs just 1,900 kg (4,189 lb). That’s not light, but it’s about 465 kg (1,025 lb) lighter than a Porsche Taycan Turbo GT and about 300 kg (661 lb) lighter than a Tesla Model S Plaid. The carbon fiber body panels play a key role in this.
A CATL Qilin 2.0 battery pack powers the super sedan’s three electric motors. Xiaomi says the SU7 Ultra will hit 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 1.97 seconds, 124 mph (200 km/h) in 5.97 seconds, and will accelerate from 0-186 mph (0-300 km/h) in 15 seconds. This year, Xiaomi hopes to break the Taycan Turbo GT’s 7:07.55 lap time at the Nürburgring.
