In 2025, Condit Exhibits will celebrate 80 years as a leader in experiential marketing, looking back on its journey from Denver’s first graphic design firm to a global force in trade show exhibits, museum displays, corporate installations and temporary architecture.
Founded in 1945 by artist Bill Condit, the company has undergone decades of transformation, evolving its products to meet the needs of modern marketing while maintaining its core values.
CEO Mike McGowan, who has led the company since 2008, highlighted the team’s dedication and adaptability:
“I am extremely proud to work with this team every day. Condit has a strong legacy – one we can all look forward to continuing to build together as we support our customers and give back to our industry and communities.”
Key Milestones in Condit’s History
- Post-World War II expansion: Bill Condit took advantage of the economic boom of the late 1940s to diversify the company’s services and establish a strong foothold in the market.
- The evolution of marketing in the 1990s: The rise of experiential marketing is changing the way brands engage with their audiences, and Condit is tapping into this trend by delivering memorable, customer-centric experiences.
- economic flexibility: The 2001 and 2008 recessions and the COVID-19 pandemic tested the company’s ability to adapt. Each challenge strengthens Condit’s ability to innovate and achieve sustainable efficiency.
- The leadership of Richard Redecker: During his 30 years as Director of Operations, Raedeke introduced groundbreaking manufacturing practices and sustainability initiatives while fostering a culture of excellence.
- Mike McGowan’s Vision: The acquisition of McGowan in 2008 established Condit as a leader in combining boutique design with high-quality manufacturing, uniting its workforce and achieving continued growth.
- Source acquisition status of exhibits in 2019: The acquisition of Exhibit Source, Inc. expands Condit’s footprint in the Midwest and enhances its expertise in heavy industrial and manufacturing activities.
Sustainability as a core value
In an industry known for its waste, Condit champions sustainability through a threefold approach: integrating eco-conscious design and manufacturing, responsible material recycling and disposal, and sustainable facilities management.
“In an industry known for waste, Condit is committed to making sustainability accessible,” said Gina Marie Zanutto, marketing manager.
The company works with clients to customize environmental solutions, from comprehensive green projects to incremental sustainability improvements, always aligned with the shared goal of reducing environmental impact.
Invest in workforce development
Condit is committed to educating the next generation of exhibition industry professionals. The company provides young talent with opportunities in the event marketing field through partnerships with local colleges, universities and trade programs.
By hosting field trips, offering internships and attending job fairs, Condit attracts creative and technical talent, from designers to machinists.
“Showing the opportunities in event marketing is extremely valuable,” adds Zanuto. “We are impressed by the talent and enthusiasm of these young people.”
future vision
As Condit enters its ninth decade, the company continues to grow through innovations such as ExhibitForce, an enhanced asset management tool that increases project visibility and client transparency.
Its long-standing focus on the food and drink industry remains a priority, with advances in areas such as protein alternatives, nutraceuticals and smart packaging bringing new opportunities.
McGowan reflected on the road ahead, reinforcing the company’s commitment to its core values:
“Condit’s collaborative design, high-quality craftsmanship and responsive customer service will continue to guide us in prioritizing sustainability and workforce development.”
As the exhibition industry rebounds and investment in convention centers increases, Condit is poised to continue its success while honoring its tradition of innovation.
