MotoGP legend Valentino Rossi and BMW join hands to continue WEC journey

MotoGP legend Valentino Rossi will compete in the LMGT3 class of the 2025 World Endurance Championship (WEC). Rossi will drive the No. 46 BMW M4 GT3 EVO with WRT Team, partnering BMW’s Kelvin van der Linde and Ahmad Al Harthy. The news comes as Rossi adjusts his 2025 racing schedule. After retiring from MotoGP, he began competing in GT racing in 2022, competing in the European GT World Challenge and moving to the WEC last year. Driving the No. 46 car, Rossi achieved important results, including second at Imola and third at Fuji, as well as top-five finishes in Qatar and Brazil. Despite the challenges of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, his first season highlighted his adaptability and competitiveness in endurance racing.

Rossi, now a father of two, had previously been unsure about his future in racing as he figured out how to balance career and family life. The move suggests he is looking for a way to continue playing while spending more time with his family.

Valentino Rossi said: “I am happy to continue to gain experience in the FIA ​​WEC as last year was a strong first season. We will work together with BMW M Motorsport to improve our performance and be more competitive in every race.
