At the recent EICMA show, two new 250cc bikes were launched – Hero Xtreme 250R and Karizma XMR 250. Among them, the Xtreme 250R was unabashedly revealed in Delhi. The shoot for the TVC has reportedly been completed, suggesting that the launch is near.

Hero Xtreme 250R – Key Features

The aggressive fascia, gold-finished USD forks and sporty graphics are some of the unique selling points that immediately catch people’s attention. It looks like Hero put a lot of time and effort into developing its first 250cc streetfighter motorcycle. First impressions are especially important when you have to compete against formidable rivals like the KTM 250 Duke. The design and styling of the Hero Xtreme 250R is in line with global standards, which comes in handy when targeting the export market.

Hero Xtreme 250R features a sharp front hood, auto-illuminating Class D LED projector headlights, LED DRLs, polygonal rear-view mirror and stylish LED turn signals. The bike features sporty graphics in an exciting combination of red, black and white. Even the front fenders and rear mono-shock suspension springs get the red treatment.

The fuel tank has the “Xtreme” badge in 3D format, while the side radiator caps have R lettering. The split seat has a sleek profile that complements the sporty look and feel of the bike. The engine casing features a unique metallic copper finish that adds another layer of pizzazz.

Sculpted fuel tank, 43 mm USD front fork, alloy wheels and exhaust pipes among many other parts Karizma XMR 250. Hero Xtreme 250R features a sturdy trellis frame and 6-step adjustable mono-shock suspension at the rear. Users can customize it based on load, terrain and riding style. The bike offers good weather protection, as evidenced by the sturdy sump guard and exhaust cover over the catalytic converter.

Hero Xtreme 250R – Performance

Powering the Hero Xtreme 250R is an all-new 250cc, liquid-cooled DOHC engine with a 4-valve system. It puts out 30 PS and 25 Nm and is expected to be paired with a 6-speed gearbox. The bike has lightweight wheels and radial tires and a 50-50 weight balance.
This configuration ensures excellent grip and responsiveness, allowing users to accelerate with confidence. 0 to 60 km/h takes just 3.25 seconds. Braking includes disc brakes at both ends and switchable ABS mode.

Hero offers advanced connectivity features with the Hero Xtreme 250R. The bike comes with a fully digital instrument display with Bluetooth support. When paired with a smartphone, users can access music and turn-by-turn directions. Phone calls and text messages may also be available. Prices start around Rs 2 lakh.
