Porsche has unveiled a one-of-a-kind 911 GT3 RS in tribute to Swiss racing driver Jo Siffert.

var adpushup = window.adpushup = window.adpushup || {que:()}; adpushup.que.push(function() { if (adpushup.config.platform !== “DESKTOP”){ adpushup.triggerAd(“4d84e4c9 -9937-4f84-82c0-c94544ee6f2a”); } else{ adpushup.triggerAd(“6a782b01-facb-45f3-a88f-ddf1b1f97657”); } });

The car was created in collaboration with Siffert’s family and was inspired by the 917 that Jo and Kurt Ahrens drove to victory at the Austrian track in 1969. As such, it features a two-tone design of pure white with touches of Viper Green.

In addition to the special paint, the car also features “29” badges on the hood, doors and wings. It also has “Porsche” lettering and special satin black magnesium alloy wheels with center locks that complement the silhouette of the 917KH.

window._taboola = window._taboola || (); _taboola.push({ mode: ‘thumbnails-a-mid’, container: ‘taboola-mid-article’, placement: ‘Mid Article’, target_type: ‘mix’ } );

Interestingly, Porsche enlisted the help of Bosch and Shell to replicate the “contemporary sponsor decals.” The designers also installed badges with Jo Siffert’s signature on the B-pillars.

Porsche didn’t release many photos of the interior, but confirmed that the car features a black and Guards Red Race-Tex interior with a helmet graphic on the headrests. The model also features special door sill plates and Siffert’s signature on the center console lid. The automaker went on to say that “even the car key is meticulously customized,” as it’s painted in Pure White and Viper Green with a 917 graphic.

The car will be on display at dealerships across the country and will finally be unveiled at the Zurich Motor Show in November. After the tour, the model will be sold to a lucky “randomly selected” customer.

Although Siffert died in 1971, Porsche said he “still enjoys a venerated status in Switzerland” thanks to his illustrious career that saw him compete in 298 races over 11 years. He loved racing so much that he would sometimes compete in several races on the same weekend, the company said.
