The GT Fastback built by Steve McQueen became an automotive and movie icon, a Mustang featured in a movie called "Bullitt." The 2001 Ford Mustang GT Special Edition (aka the "Mustang Bullitt GT") shown here honors the car from the legendary movie and is the first "Bullitt" model officially produced by Ford. It was followed by the S197 Edition in 2008 and 2009, and the S550 Edition in 2019 and 2020.
