1966 Chevrolet C10 Flatbed Truck
1966 Chevrolet C10 Flatbed Truck

There's something there The automotive industry is a gap that companies have been trying to fill. Yes, they like to fill their order books and dealers with new models, but that's not what I mean. I'm talking about white space, the area that exists between two models. The BMW X6 is a great example of this, as it fills the gap between a coupe and a traditional SUV. Our Pick of the Day is a dealer-listed 1966 Chevrolet C10 flatbed truck on ClassicCars.com that fills the gap between a pickup truck and a traditional van. According to a 1966 brochure, Chevrolet offered 11 Step-Vans in 21 different body sizes. But customers don't have to default to a standard pickup truck if the style or size isn't right. They could buy something in the space between the two: a panel truck. The car is painted in an attractive combination of Lemonwood Cream and Ebony Tan, drawing attention to the enclosed cargo…

Pick Of The Day: 1993 Ford Mustang
Pick of the Day: 1993 Ford Mustang

As early as the 1970swhen the Ford Bronco transformed from a Jeep competitor into an SUV, the Bronco was just a Ford truck that was both practical and fun. It's interesting to see how Ford has adapted the model over time with aerodynamic tweaks, following the same route as Ford's passenger cars. Our daily pick is one of those aerodynamic vehicles, the 1993 Ford Bronco Eddie Bauer Edition. A private seller in Hallsville, Texas, listed the car for sale on ClassicCars.com. (Click on the link to view the auction.) 1980 Ford Mustang (Ford Motor Company) The second-generation Ford Bronco appeared in showrooms in the fall of 1977. Previously, it was a competitor to the Jeep CJ-5, but now it is competing head-on with the Jeep Cherokee and the cross-town upstart - the Jeep Cherokee. Chevrolet Trailblazer. It was updated in 1980, ultimately becoming the template for models that continued into 1996. Still, Bronco fans divided it into generations, with the…

1971 Mercedes-Benz 280Se 3.5 Convertible
1971 Mercedes-Benz 280SE 3.5 Convertible

one of the greatest things As a car enthusiast, you can participate in the hobby even if you don't drive. A simple walk through the shopping district is filled with interesting sights to spark your inner interest. The only problem is, you never know the story behind a particular vehicle that catches your eye. But if you happened to see our Daily Pick in person, a 1971 Mercedes-Benz 280SE 3.5 Convertible listed on ClassicCars.com by a New York City dealer, you'd know the background and details information. Part of the W111 series of vehicles, the V8-powered 280SE 3.5 ran from the late 1950s to the early 1970s and was relatively rare in production over the past few years, especially in convertible form. Of the hundreds of thousands of W111s produced, only 1,232 were 280SE 3.5 convertibles. The car is a Texas car with only two owners and approximately 43,000 miles, according to the selling dealer. Of course, the passage of…

Pick Of The Day: 2000 Bmw Z3
Pick of the Day: 2000 BMW Z3

let me start I said I love the BMW Z3 and I personally own one, so I'm a bit biased towards these cars. In fact, I think the Z3 is the best modern version of an old roadster ever made. Yes, Mazda still sells Miatas, but a 20-plus-year-old Z3 still feels better than any Miata I've driven (especially the interior). That's my opinion, but it's based on spending a lot of time in each vehicle. The Z3's materials were better, the car felt more solid, and the options far exceeded what Mazda was offering at the time. The reason is simple: the Z3 is a much more expensive car than the Miata, and the BMW can do things the Mazda can't do at the same price point. BMW's main focus was that while this car was powered by the M44 1.9 liter I4, a number of really great BMW I6 engines soon followed, making the Z3 a car with more…

1959 Gmc 150 Napco 4X4
1959 GMC 150 Napco 4X4

The truck has become like this Luxurious and expensive, they are used so often to transport families around that we overlook the fact that they were once work vehicles, whether in a quarry or lumber yard. Work is exactly what our Pick of the Day, a 1959 GMC 150 NAPCO 4X4 pickup listed by a private seller on ClassicCars.com, is for - twice. According to the seller, this 150 was "purchased new in California in 1959 for the forestry department and equipped with a Napco 4×4 system," which was an available GMC factory-installed option. This type of service can take a big toll on your truck's body, suspension, engine, and interior. At some point the man retired from the U.S. Forest Service, but even then it didn't get the job done. Luckily, it sounds like it's going to be a much less demanding job than before. The seller said the truck was used as a "perfect piece of advertising" for…

Pick Of The Day: 1953 Packard Patrician
Pick of the Day: 1953 Packard Patrician

Cadillac might be The Packard was the epitome of American luxury to me when I was a fledgling car enthusiast, but history shows that the Packard was the world standard throughout the 1940s. Several miscues hurt Packard's standing. Our daily picks embody the last vestiges of Packard tradition before it once again became a Cadillac contemporary. This 1953 Packard Patrician four-door sedan is listed for sale on ClassicCars.com by a private seller in Houston. (Click the link to see the list.) 1912 First self-starting engine. 1914 The first mass-produced V8 engine. 1915 “The Punishment of Leadership.” 1929 The first synchromesh transmission. The first V16 in 1930. 1933 First adjustable suspension. High compression 1949 V8 engine. Cadillac made an impact in Detroit and overseas, but America's premier luxury car brand - one of the three P's (the others being Pierce-Arrow and Peerless) - also left its mark. Isn’t it ironic that it also begins with a copywriter’s pen? In 1902, "Ask…

1996 Chevrolet Caprice Classic Sedan
1996 Chevrolet Caprice Classic Sedan

Chevrolet Caprice classic In the 1990s, it was the vehicle of choice for taxi services and police forces, so much so that it's hard to imagine there are vehicles out there that haven't been in crashes or beyond repair. Luckily, Chevrolet also makes them for private consumers, including our daily pick, a 1996 Caprice Classic sedan. In the early to mid-1990s, General Motors introduced a variety of V8-powered, full-size, non-cargo vehicles with graceful body lines. You could buy the luxurious Cadillac Fleetwood sedan, the sporty Chevrolet Impala SS sedan or the roomy Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser station wagon (1991 and 1992 only). The upscale Buick Roadmaster and the practical Chevrolet Caprice Classic are available in sedan and wagon form. Unlike its siblings, this 1996 Caprice Classic leads an easy life. It has traveled only 19,857 miles over the past 28 years. This use of light is expressed in an attractive (and appropriately named) dark greenish-grey metallic finish. According to the selling…

1974 Chevrolet Blazer 4X4 4-Speed
1974 Chevrolet Blazer 4X4 4-speed

I drive one of them Chevrolet has resurrected the legendary nameplate for the 2019 model year with the all-new Blazer. It's an attractive crossover that offers plenty of power and a pleasant ride quality. I don't have a problem with it in its modern form, but others do. Whenever the new Blazer comes up in conversation, the inevitable response from the people I talk to is always this: "They should bring it back as an off-road vehicle like the old one." If you feel the same way, check us out 's Daily Pick, this is a 1974 Chevrolet Blazer 4X4 listed by a ClassicCars.com dealer. It has all the boxy, rugged charm that the Trail Blazers were previously known for, plus some notable advantages. The "square body" comes from one of the few models Chevrolet offers for the Blazer, which features a removable fiberglass hardtop that covers the front and rear seats as well as the cargo area. Before the…

Pick Of The Day: 1969 Plymouth Gtx
Pick of the Day: 1969 Plymouth GTX

We previewed The 1967 Plymouth GTX built by Mopar last week at SEMA. I have a 1968 GTX as one of my AutoHunter choices. So why not choose the 1969 version as your daily pick? Very Nice - This 1969 Plymouth GTX hardtop is listed on ClassicCars.com for sale by a dealer in Homer City, Pennsylvania. (Click the link to see the list.) In the second year of its styling cycle, the 1969 Plymouth GTX hardtop and convertible were refined as the performance market matured. We’ve seen hints of this before in road runner-esque advertising illustrations and racing stripes. In 1969, Plymouth dropped the stripes but added bright colors, an available air intake system, and better marketing to the performance crowd. For a greater performance look, two flat black stripes on the hood replace the black "Sports Hood Patch." The mesh grille is a thing of the past, and the front end now features a single horizontal bar in a…

Pick Of The Day: 2005 Chrysler Crossfire Srt-6
Pick of the Day: 2005 Chrysler Crossfire SRT-6

Made by Chrysler In Germany? Get out of town. (Even abroad.) It's a genuine car that was only available for five model years, from 2004 to 2008. The Crossfire is a two-seat, rear-wheel-drive sports car that was first unveiled as a concept at the 2001 North American International Auto Show in Detroit and in production form the following year. Today's Pick is a low-mileage 2005 Chrysler Crossfire SRT-6 for sale on ClassicCars.com by a private seller in Eugene, Oregon. (Click the link to see the list.) “This piece was purchased in Utah and the second owner placed it in a private collection,” the listing reads. “No expense was spared, thoroughly cataloged and serviced.” This CrossFire is the most obscure of cars. First, it was designed during the merger of Chrysler and Mercedes-Benz (roughly from 1998 to 2007). The exterior design language is reportedly inspired by the "Art Deco" architecture of the 1930s, and the car can be ordered as a…

Pick Of The Day: 1959 Fuel-Injected Chevrolet Impala
Pick of the Day: 1959 Fuel-Injected Chevrolet Impala

what is classic A 1950s Chevrolet? Most would say one of the Tri-Fives, the 1955 model is probably the purest version of the series, perhaps in Nomad form. Others may point out that the finny '57 has fuel injection and therefore should be a Top Dog. With that, I recommend our Daily Pick as the most classic bowtie of the 1950s, this 1959 Chevrolet Impala fuel-injected convertible. It is currently for sale on ClassicCars.com from a dealer in Chatsworth, California. (Click the link to view the list) Everyone knows the story of Chevrolet and Chrysler in the 1950s, but let's recap it to increase my word count: Chevrolet went from an obscure reputation in 1955 to something completely different. From a car for librarians to a performance brand, Chevrolet deserves the same praise, but a few years earlier. The 1955 Chevrolet embodied the best of Harley Earl's styling studio in America's popular low-price brand, combined with the fine engineering of…

Pick Of The Day: 1996 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe
Pick of the Day: 1996 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe

this Daily Picks is a 1996 Chevrolet Corvette coupe listed on ClassicCars.com by a Missouri dealer. Whenever I see the letters NCRS (National Corvette Restoration Society), I automatically think of a well-preserved C1 or a restored C3. It's hard to believe that this organization also judges C4 Corvettes, but the reality is that the latest fourth-generation Corvettes, like this 1996 coupe, are nearly 30 years old. The 1996 model year was significant in Corvette history. It marked the end of the C4, which Chevrolet celebrated in more ways than one. It still offers the 300-horsepower LT1 V8, but also released a high-performance 5.7-liter V8 called the LT4. It produces 330 horsepower and 340 pound-feet of torque and is standard equipment on the Grand Sport, a model name that returns after more than 30 years of absence and is only available in 1996 Collector's Edition models and regular Vette models with the six-cylinder engine. - Speed manual transmission. By the time…

Diego'S Autohunter Picks | Classiccars.com Magazine
Diego’s AutoHunter Picks | ClassicCars.com Magazine

there was a time There was a time when there was no respect for the flaws of age in the old car hobby, but today you get reviled for ruining the patina of an old car or whatnot. The archeology appreciated by experts and restorers does not always exist. This week's AutoHunter pick only has one vehicle with original paint, but it's worth mentioning for those who pay attention to these things. There's also a classic Mopar muscle car, a fun camper van and a lightly customized '50s Ford. Which one would you buy for your winter projects? 1968 Plymouth GTXDo you prefer the 1968 GTX or the 1969 GTX? I go back and forth on this issue. Of course, 1969 was a more refined year for marketing, equipment, and styling, but I really liked the stripes and nearly full-width taillights of 1968. 1968 was also the best-selling year for the GTX, with approximately 19,000 units sold. This 1968 GTX…

Pick Of The Day: 1958 Chevrolet Apache
Pick of the Day: 1958 Chevrolet Apache

There are two extremes Speaking of classic vehicles: On one end of the spectrum are those that have never been driven and have been stored forever in a climate-controlled garage; on the other are vehicles that have been heavily used and driven to the point of cosmetic rot, if not outright mechanical failure. Fortunately, there's a middle ground that allows classics to be unleashed without being completely destroyed. Our Pick of the Day - a 1958 Chevrolet Apache listed on ClassicCars.com by a private seller roams here. The Chevrolet Task Force truck line was introduced in 1955 and updated in 1958 with new names: Apache for light duty, Viking for medium duty, and Spartan for heavy duty. The Apache gets updates like a new grille, sheet metal, quad headlights, and interior trim. Former Chevrolet general manager Jim Perkins said the seller of the '58 Series 32 calls it a "P&A (parts and accessories) demo car." This explains its front bumper…

Pick Of The Day: 1955 Panhard Dyna Z
Pick of the Day: 1955 Panhard Dyna Z

car history Many ugly cars were produced. While styling and design are subjective, sometimes we have to look beyond the surface to discover engineering solutions that may be superior to the ones that failed us. Our Daily Pick is one of those vehicles: a 1955 Panhard Dyna Z. It is listed on ClassicCars.com for sale by a private seller in Lakewood Ranch, Florida. (Click the link to see the list.) There was a book I read as a kid called "Cars of the Fifties and Sixties" by Michael Sedgwick. What fascinates me the most is not the finned flyers I want to see, but the strange cars from Europe. Many of these cars have become mainstream in the American auction scene, such as the Amphicar and Messerschmitt, but the Panhard Dyna remains a curiosity. 1937 Panhard Dynamic Advertising The Panhard probably resonates most with American enthusiasts because of its Panhard rods, but the company built cars that spanned several different…

Pick Of The Day: 1955 Ford Fairlane Victoria
Pick of the Day: 1955 Ford Fairlane Victoria

"About the 1955 Ford", the sporty feel has been integrated into the basic shape of the car itself," Ford declares in the ad. The side of the car features wide side trim, and hooded headlights give the front end an aerodynamic flair. "All-round" windshield Visibility is increased, and the car is said to drive as well as it looks. 1999 Jeep Wrangler Sahara 5 Speed
1999 jeep wrangler sahara 5 speed

Back to January 2018I had the pleasure of driving the all-new JL Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport alongside hundreds of JK Wrangler owners at Austin Jeep’s largest annual event, the Polar Bear Run. They don't call it "Polar Bear Run" for nothing: Everyone at Hidden Falls Adventure Park in Marble Falls, Texas, should remove the roof and doors and lower the windshield before hitting the road. Doing this lets the cold in, but also brings me closer to the sights and sounds of nature. If this sounds interesting to you, check out our Daily Pick, a 1999 Jeep Wrangler Sahara listed on ClassicCars.com by a South Dakota dealer. Two-door Jeeps have been around for decades, but the Wrangler model is less than 40 years old, having replaced the CJ Series in the 1987 model year. The first generation Wrangler, also known as the YJ (or "Yuppy Jeep" to some) was produced until 1996. Its successor, the TJ, had more Jeep-like round…

Pick Of The Day: 1967 Amc Marlin
Pick of the Day: 1967 AMC Marlin

in an industry There has been a trend toward downsizing since the 1970s, exemplified by the 1955-57 Ford Thunderbird, which history proves experienced the opposite as it was upgraded to a four-seat model in 1958. Our pick of the day is another one that's been pushed up a size. . . twice! : AMC Marlin in 1967. It is listed for sale on ClassicCars.com by a dealer in Farmingdale, New York. (Click the link to see the list) As you know, the Marlin originated with the 1964 Rambler Tarpon, a sporty fastback show car based on the new, redesigned American Rambler compact. However, the Americans did not plan to offer a V8 engine until 1966, which may have limited the Tarpon's appeal. Therefore, the American car company decided to promote the production version on the mid-size Classic platform. As you know, this car was launched in 1965 and renamed "Marlin". Despite being a step up in size, the Marlin's proportions…

Pick Of The Day: 1963 Chevrolet C10 Stepside
Pick of the Day: 1963 Chevrolet C10 Stepside

this Daily Picks It is a 1963 Chevrolet C10 Stepside pickup truck listed by an Ohio dealer on ClassicCars.com. I can't speak for any of you, but I know I get into phases when it comes to certain vehicles. Lately, I've been obsessed with vintage Chevy trucks. When I was looking at the listings for Barrett-Jackson's 2023 Scottsdale Fall Auction, I saw a beautiful blue 1972 Chevrolet C10 Stepside with the original I6 engine and transmission. Since then, I've been looking for other cool C10s on ClassicCars.com. As you can see, I found another one. This first generation C/K series pickup truck was given a new life through a frame-on restoration. As part of the process, the frame is powder coated. Surrounding hardware like the suspension and brake components were upgraded so the truck now rides on a total cost suspension and stops with the help of Wilwood power disc brakes. The exterior has been refreshed in an unusual but…

Pick Of The Day: 1975 Amc Hornet
Pick of the Day: 1975 AMC Hornet

What is the cheapest Can you buy a James Bond car? Well, you know it's not an Aston Martin DB5, or a BMW Z8, or even a Lotus Esprit. Prices for all of these cars range from about $50,000 to about $1 million. There yes cars used in james bond movies and One of the most incredible 007 stunts of the 1970s: AMC Bumblebee. The Daily Pick is one of those cars, a 1975 AMC Hornet located in California and listed on ClassicCars.com. The example we have here is the exact same color combination used in The Man with the Golden Gun. The seller describes this Hornet as having the original six-cylinder engine that was refurbished in 2020 and paired with a three-speed Torque Command automatic transmission. They added that the car has a new paint job and a redone factory-correct interior. The car needs a carburetor gasket replaced, but the tires are new. When all was said and done,…

Pick Of The Day: 1970 Ford Mustang &Quot;T5&Quot;
Pick of the Day: 1970 Ford Mustang “T5”

Ford Mustang It was Detroit's postwar success story, but Ford ran into problems selling the model in Germany. It seems that a company that makes trucks owns the rights to the name. Our Pick of the Day is a 1970 Ford T5 SportsRoof, one of the cars that solves this problem. It is listed for sale on ClassicCars.com by a dealer in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. (Click this link to view the list.) The problem with the Mustang fell to Krupp Steel (now ThyssenKrupp). Krupp's history includes artillery, railroads, tanks and trucks, and it was the production of the latter from 1951 to 1968 that put Ford in trouble until the trademark expired in 1973. That's why the Ford Mustang has another name in Germany. Where did T5 come from? This was Ford's internal code when the original Mustang was taking shape. Why is the production car called T5? I can only suspect that branding the Mustang with another name is…

2016 Aston Martin Vantage Gts
2016 Aston Martin Vantage GTS

for those of you Those of you who know me or have read my stories probably know by now that my favorite car brand is Aston Martin. Yes, I know I'm obsessed with BMW, but the Aston brand has a mythology and history that, to me, is unmatched by any other carmaker in automotive history. Sure, Ferraris are powerful, especially in terms of mythology, but owning and driving or just simply staring at an Aston is another story entirely. Additionally, although Astons are comparable to Ferraris in most aspects, used Astons almost always sell for much less, making the brand even more attractive. The Daily Pick is one of them, a 2016 Aston Martin Vantage GTS coupe at a dealership in Costa Mesa, California. The story of the modern Aston Martin Vantage began in 2003 with the debut of the AMV8 Vantage at the North American International Auto Show. It was well received by journalists and potential owners alike, and…

Pick Of The Day: 1992 Oldsmobile Custom Corvette
Pick of the Day: 1992 Oldsmobile Custom Corvette

this Daily Picks is a 1992 Oldsmobile Custom Corvette listed on ClassicCars.com by an Illinois dealer. If you've ever wanted to buy an old, large, comfortable American car, such as a Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham, you might have been advised to look for a car owned by an older person. The logic is that such owners typically drive their cars gently, don't put many miles on them, and have them maintained by the dealer. The dealer selling this 1992 Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser must have heard the same advice and acted on it. According to them, they bought this three-row carriage from the original owner, a 93-year-old woman. Yes, there are 93,637 miles on the odometer, but when you crunch the numbers, you'll find that they average out to less than 3,000 miles per year over 30 years. The Deep Maple Red Metallic and Gunmetal Gray Metallic exteriors are reportedly "gleaming and looking just like they did in the showroom 32 years…

Pick Of The Day: 1962 Oldsmobile F-85 Cutlass Gasser
Pick of the Day: 1962 Oldsmobile F-85 Cutlass Gasser

Chrysler might be The company has a reputation for engineering, but it's hard to argue that GM held that title in 1960s Detroit. Case in point: the 1960 Chevrolet Corvair. The car spawned three "premium compacts," each with a novel engineering approach. One of these three cars is our Daily Pick: a 1962 Oldsmobile F-85 Cutlass gasoline engine. It is for sale on ClassicCars.com by a private seller in Lake Forest, California. (Click the link to see the list) Let's review them one by one, starting with Pontiac: The Tempest is the least expensive of the three premium compacts, but Pontiac didn't skimp on engineering. Unique to the Tempest is its cable-driven transaxle and independent rear suspension. While the Trophy 4 engine is no engineering marvel, it is still unique in that it is half the 389 V8. For more power, Buick's 215 V8 was optional until Pontiac introduced the 326 in 1963. Incredibly, Pontiac retained the transaxle for its…

Pick Of The Day: 1965 Chrysler Newport Convertible
Pick of the Day: 1965 Chrysler Newport Convertible

Chrysler Corporation was The Chrysler brand was going through some tough times in the early 1960s, but not as hard as its cheaper siblings. When the C-body debuted in 1965, Chrysler was able to move forward with optimism in a way it had not been able to do for eight years. Our daily pick, a 1965 Chrysler Newport convertible, is one of those cars that shines. It is listed for sale on ClassicCars.com by a dealer in Farmingdale, New York. (Click the link to view the list) The 1957 Chrysler cars were outstanding because of their beautiful styling and engineering. Put a Buick next to it, and the GM car clearly looks shabby in comparison. However, quality problems plagued the entire Chrysler Corporation, and sales in 1958 suffered from reputation and economic decline. The redesigned 1959 car wasn't bad, but it pales in comparison to GM's all-new cars. Chrysler attempted to rectify the problems with the 1960 model year with…

Pick Of The Day: 2006 Bmw M5
Pick of the Day: 2006 BMW M5

i have a lot of experience Along with the E60 BMW M5. The press conference for the new 2005 M5 in the United States was the first BMW media conference I attended. It was held near Lime Rock Park Raceway in Connecticut, and we had the opportunity to drive it on the track as well as on some amazing nearby roads. Powered by the new 500-horsepower S85 5.0-liter V10 engine, the M5 is a BMW model that journalists attending the event have never seen before. The engine is an absolute gem and the SMG transmission shifts faster than any manual gearbox without any lag and delivers some incredible performance figures. The M5 features BMW's new adaptive suspension, which can be adjusted to various modes from Comfort mode to a track-ready Sport+ setting. It's a masterpiece of technology and performance. The figures BMW gave us at the time were a 0-60 time of 4.7 seconds (very quick for that era) and…

1969 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray 427
1969 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray 427

this Daily Picks is a 1969 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray coupe listed by an Indiana dealer on ClassicCars.com. Whenever you decide to buy a performance car, you start going downhill. Before purchasing a 2008 Ford Mustang in 2022, my logic was that if I was going to spend time researching the Mustang and test driving it, and then take out a loan to buy one, I might as well buy a V8. This made me buy not just any V8 model, but a Bullitt. This 1969 Corvette might lead you down a similar path. Why buy a C3 Corvette when you can get a big 427 like this? The selling dealer didn't provide much information about the car beyond the basics, but it covers a lot. The rest is obvious. The curvaceous coupe comes from the second model year of the third-generation Corvette. Judging from the colors and available palette of '69 Vettes, this appears to be finished in a nice…

Pick Of The Day: 1955 Cadillac Series 60 Special
Pick of the Day: 1955 Cadillac Series 60 Special

In Detroit, you can always Rely on evolution, sometimes not always in the best way. Too often, we witness a special model being watered down into something less special. Our Daily Picks aren't often used as examples of this, but they're worth discussing. This 1955 Cadillac Fleetwood Series 60 Special is listed on ClassicCars.com for sale by a dealer in West Chester, Pennsylvania. (Click the link to see the list) In the early days, Cadillac models (like many brands) were listed in different series. For example, the 1938 Cadillac model lineup included the Series Sixty, Series Sixty-five, Series Seventy-five, and Series Ninety, the latter powered by a V16 engine rather than a V8. Each series is also defined by wheelbase, with the 75 Series and 90 Series having the same length at 141.25 inches. Although it is Cadillac's entry-level series, the Series Sixty Special is different from all other Cadillacs. Bill Mitchell, young designer child prodigyIt was originally intended to…

2009 Ford Mustang Iacocca 45th Anniversary Edition

this Daily Picks is a 2009 Ford Mustang Iacocca 45th Anniversary Edition listed on ClassicCars.com by a California dealer. Many people know Lee Iacocca as the man who saved Chrysler in the 1980s, but long before that, he was a Ford vice president and the man behind one of Ford's most legendary cars Push hands. "The world's first 'pony' car was the child of Lee Iacocca and Don Frey," Ford said in a 2021 post about the Mustang on its media site. Considered an affordable car that blends luxury and performance in a compact, sporty design”. More than 30 years after being fired from Ford in 1978, Iacocca returned to the Mustang business, producing 45 specially modified "2019 1/2" Iacocca Silver 45th Anniversary Edition Mustangs like the one you see here . As part of its I Legacy business, Iacocca collaborated with designer Michael Leone and Gaffoglio Family Metalcrafters in Fountain Valley, California, to create the commemorative model. To achieve…

Pick Of The Day: 1970 Amc Javelin Sst
Pick of the Day: 1970 AMC Javelin SST

plymouth barracudaDodge Challenger, Chevrolet Camaro and Pontiac Firebird were all new for 1970, but the Ford Mustang and Mercury Cougar were holdovers from 1969. But let's not forget AMC, which launched the Javelin in 1968 and revamped it in 1970 in response to the onslaught of new pony cars. Our Pick of the Day is a 1970 AMC Javelin SST that shows how American Motors kept things fresh before their 1971 redesign. This particular vehicle is listed on ClassicCars.com for sale by a dealer in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. (Click the link to see the list) The 1968-69 Javelin was a sales success, but even better, it gave American Motors a much-needed image boost as it competed head-to-head with General Motors, Ford and Chrysler. While AMC doesn't have the powerful engine to handle the 426 Hemis, the 343 and 390 are more than enough for most people. Then there's the two-seat AMX, which gives AMC an unparalleled and unique car.…

I'm writing this The Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale fall auctions are about to begin, but that doesn't mean there aren't some neat AutoHunter picks to choose from. In fact, after spending a day poring over Westworld's cars, I'm almost certain that not one of the thousands of cars I've seen looks like the ones I've picked out below. All of the cars below offer different driving experiences and price points. Hope you like what fits your budget best. 1968 Oldsmobile 4-4-2 W30Nineteen sixty-eight 4-4-2s with the W30 package don't come up for sale very often, especially ones in good condition. An interesting tidbit about cars with the W36 stripes (included in the W30 package): Oldsmobile moved the side badges slightly towards the doors so that the stripes wouldn't hit the wheels so well - if it did hit them well The wheel, that is, is restored by mistake. But everything is fine with this 1968 Olds 4-4-2 W30. Notice the right stripes?…

Daily Pick: 1965 Chevrolet C10 Fleetside
Daily Pick: 1965 Chevrolet C10 Fleetside

Just something about A lowered, single-cab, short-bed pickup truck. Correction: A few things. Even though it's not a behemoth with a double-digit lift, huge wheels, and earth-ripping tires, it still has a presence. If it were modified with a generous budget it would have go match that exhibit. Our latest Daily Pick, this LS3-powered 1965 Chevrolet C10 Fleetside listed on ClassicCars.com, has both. In 1965, the Chevrolet C10 was offered with a variety of engines, including a 230ci inline-six and a 283ci V8 with 145 horsepower and 245 pound-feet of torque (both net). Of course, it would be nice if this truck still had the original (and slightly upgraded) engine, but whoever replaces it has opted for a worthy successor: an LS3 6.2-liter with polished parts V8 engine. If you look around the engine bay, you'll see other notable components such as the power steering fluid reservoir, body-color brake booster, and dual-circuit master cylinder (for some slow to control that…

California Governor Vetoes Speed Warning Proposal
California governor vetoes speed warning proposal

California Governor Gavin Newsom On Saturday, September 28, a bill was defeated that would have required all new cars sold in the state to issue a brief audio-visual warning every time a driver exceeds the posted speed limit by 10 mph. Newsom vetoed the bill out of concern that if California had its own rules separate from those at the federal level, there would be a patchwork of regulations on vehicle safety, especially since the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is already evaluating the introduction of smart anti-counterfeiting measures. Speeding measures, according to the Associated Press. If the bill passes, all new vehicles sold or leased in California would be required to install warning systems, except for certain trucks and motorcycles. Emergency vehicles will also be exempted. The bill, Senate Bill 961, introduced by Senator Scott Wiener, aims to introduce an early warning system for the 2030 model year. The proposed system would rely on GPS information and a front-facing…

1979 Volvo 262C Bertone Coupe

early 1990sI work in the film industry as a production coordinator and my daily driver is a Porsche 911 coupe. For that job, I needed a car that could carry more than two people and be decent, but not great enough also OK You see, one of my additional duties as production coordinator was to pick up cast and crew at various airports and bring them to hotels near where we were filming. As a car enthusiast, I wanted something unique and reliable, something stylish but affordable and well-made. It was a hard combination to find, but after weeks of searching, I finally found a Volvo 262C Bertone coupe. This proved to be an excellent choice as the 262C was comfortable, could accommodate cast or crew luggage, had a luxurious interior, and the styling always seemed to turn heads, especially for those who love cars. explain. I remember picking up Bill Paxton from the airport while filming Tombstone and our…

The Greatest Frigate Of All Time
The greatest frigate of all time

Since 1953, the Chevrolet Corvette Earned the title of America's sports car. But now, eight generations in, it's more than just a sports car. With its mid-engine design and various wild powertrains, the Corvette is now an American exotic that performs like a supercar but costs a lot less. Full of scoops, vents, and wings, it's overly bold in an American way, but it also has the merch to back up its looks. The Corvette wasn't that confident at first. It's a six-cylinder convertible that favors style over performance. It set the design benchmark for the second-generation model while also adding performance variants that are now highly regarded but had little power during the doldrums of the 1970s. The C4 Corvette marks a return to performance, albeit perhaps without the best build quality. The C5, C6 and C7 Corvettes all evolved a common design into the best-performing front-engine cars GM has ever built. But that wasn't enough, prompting the C8…

Pick Of The Day: 1968 Mercury Cougar
Pick of the Day: 1968 Mercury Cougar

this Daily Picks It's a 1968 Mercury Cougar listed on ClassicCars.com by a California dealer. Mercury offered different varieties of the 1968 Cougar that were friendlier to the owner, or that roared louder and attacked other vehicles with more ferocity. The interior of the XR-7 model is equipped with leather seats, European-style toggle switches and walnut wood trim. The Cougar GT features the four-tube Marauder 390 GT V8, stiffer springs, and heavy-duty shock absorbers. The Alpha Cat was the GT-E, with a massive 427ci V8 (later replaced by the 428 Cobra Jet) that produced 390 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. The base Cougar came standard with 302, which was eventually changed to 289. The 68 Cougar you see here is the base model, but it's certainly not a lap cat. According to Deluxe Marti reporting documents, this Cougar was built in May 1968 as a fleet order for the Canadian Pacific Regional Sales Office (DSO). It comes with Glacier…

Pick Of The Day: 1961 Dodge Dart Phoenix
Pick of the Day: 1961 Dodge Dart Phoenix

Chrysler Corporation Virgil Exner experienced several tumultuous moments as he strutted his stuff and gave Harley Earl a run for his money. However, things came to a head in 1961, when its goofy styling was out of step with the industry. An example of this is our Daily Pick, a 1961 Dodge Dart Phoenix convertible listed on ClassicCars.com by a dealer in St. Louis. (Click the link to view the list) All was well in 1957 when "forward thinking" got General Motors to go back to the drawing board - or so it seemed, because Chrysler couldn't properly meet strong demand without compromising quality. The problem improved in 1958, but this reputation combined with the recession hurt production, especially that of Dodge, DeSoto, and Chrysler. Unibody construction (sans Imperial) for the 1960 model year helped solve quality issues, but the Exner's styling didn't develop the way the market wanted. Previously, Dodge dealerships often co-branded with Plymouth, but in 1960 this…

Early days In the Pure Stock Muscle Car Drag Race, David Dudek and his son Dave will be in attendance and using their cars to uphold Chrysler Corporation's reputation. It had been so long ago that I don't remember what car or engine it was, but a few years later Dave started naming himself after his trusty Hermie. FAST racing developed into its own thing as some racers started taking advantage of the rules, and Dave was at the forefront of what the Hemi could do with stock parts (spoiler alert: faster than many modified Hemi's). Today, Dave brings his expertise and gravitas to fill the Mopar needs of other enthusiasts. Pick Of The Day: 1967 Ford Mustang Gt Fastback
Pick of the Day: 1967 Ford Mustang GT Fastback

Ford Mustang were the most important vehicles in Detroit in the 1960s, but which one was the most important? Our Daily Picks are my submissions to answer this tough question. This 1967 Ford Mustang GT 2+2 is listed on ClassicCars.com for sale by a dealer in Green Brook, New Jersey. (Click the link to see the list) If you consider that the 1965 Mustang was the most important year for pony cars, especially the mid-1964 models, they excited Americans more than any other car (despite being introduced very early, both based on the VIN) is from 1965). But the 1967 Mustang—the first redesign—is key to the Mustang's past and future. Let's talk styling first: The 1967 Mustang was very similar to the classic 1965-66 version, but was larger and more refined. The stance is firmer, the styling is more properly integrated (no additional taillights, for example), the interior is more refined (no more under-dash air conditioning), and the options list…

I'm starting to lose interest I started getting into new cars around 2001 when I left an advertising agency in Detroit. Apparently, I no longer keep my finger on the pulse of the market. Visits to international car shows are becoming increasingly rare. result? I've lost touch - don't ask me when the Mustang was redesigned because I'm not sure if it was 2013 or 2014 (answer: 2015 model year). Don't ask me about horsepower over the years. These AutoHunter Picks mostly cater to the muscle memory in my head: classics from another era. But that's not to say my desires are discriminatory, as the Porsche I chose would be a great daily driver and, unfortunately, might make me forget about the classics, as many of you Hellcat Dodge Challenger owners have discovered That way. 1968 Buick GS 400 ConvertibleI wrote about this car in the ClassicCars.com Daily Pick about 18 months ago and now it's featured on AutoHunter -…
