Daily Pick: 2009 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG
I still remember fondly The first day of the C63 press conference. It was held in Paradise Valley, Arizona, and it was my first time riding in a car. After a few miles we came to a traffic light. What should be parked next to me but a Ferrari 355 Spyder. This guy literally defines the Ferrari driver stereotype: wearing a Ferrari Polo shirt, a two-tone Rolex Datejust, Persol sunglasses, and sitting in the passenger seat is a woman one-third his age. He looked at the C63 with little interest, noting the wider fenders and huge tires (not to mention the exhaust note our car made). When the light came on, he took off with a lot of noise and wheelspin, but we were already about 50 yards ahead of him. When he met us at the next traffic light, he looked at our silver sedan in confusion. "What the hell is that Mercedes? I really want to catch you!"…

Daily Pick: 1987 Porsche 944S
back in timePorsche has always launched an entry-level car that brings people into the family at an affordable price. Someone might really want a 911, but can only afford it at a lower price. It didn't give them their "dream car," but it allowed them to still have a Porsche. I don't know what happened, but Porsche seems to have abandoned this strategy and adopted an almost Ferrari marketing strategy where all their cars are quite expensive. That's a shame, because some affordable cars like the original Boxster, 914, 912 and 924/944 cars were not only fun to drive, but also extremely well built. For many, they are a great entry point into the brand. Case in point, our Daily Pick, this 1987 Porsche 944S featured on ClassicCars.com. The 944S was Porsche's second economical car in the 1980s. However, this is a standard 944 car, and instead of the usual 214 hp 2.5 liter inline 4 engine, a twin cam…
Daily Pick: 1948 Chevrolet 3100 Pickup
We at The Wall Street Journal Love features stories about vehicles restored as sentimental artifacts of family history. Back in August we discussed an Acura that I restored in memory of my friend's mother who passed away. I came across a similar story, except this one was about a truck that had been repaired for its owner, who was still able to drive and enjoy it despite having some health issues. The Pick of the Day is a 1948 Chevrolet 3100 pickup truck listed for sale on ClassicCars.com by a private seller in Phoenix, Arizona. (Click the link to see the list) "We are presented with a unique opportunity to own a piece of our family's history," the listing reads. "This truck has been in our family for over 50 years and holds a special value in our hearts. It was my dad's My daily driver for 25 years at the General Motors Assembly Plant in Van Nuys, California, and…
Daily Pick: 1985 Mercedes-Benz 500SEL
Mercedes-Benz 500SEL It's a car with a presence. This is a large executive sedan produced in 1985, about 17 feet long, with a base price of $52,000. Even by today's standards 40 years later, this is quite a change. Does this car live up to the hype? The Pick of the Day is a 1985 Mercedes-Benz 500SEL listed for sale on ClassicCars.com by a private seller in Nashville, Tennessee. (Click the link to view the list) “This was the flagship Mercedes sedan of its day,” the listing reads. It was a popular platform, selling nearly 900,000 vehicles during its lifetime. Mercedes used the S-Class to showcase most of its advanced features in terms of technology, safety, comfort and performance. No wonder people love it. The car's black color…
Beyond Thanksgiving: The Power of Daily Gratitude
Listen to audio In some workplaces, gratitude may feel forced or insincere. You've probably seen those awkward team meetings where everyone scrambles to say something "nice" and it feels more like a chore than a meaningful interaction. It's no wonder some leaders question whether appreciation will affect business success. But gratitude isn’t just about making people feel good, it’s about leadership. Using it intentionally can transform your workplace. Small but consistent acts of appreciation can boost morale, build stronger teams, and improve performance. That's why I created Grategy®, a framework designed to help leaders make gratitude a natural part of their company culture. Let’s talk numbers. Research from the University of Oxford shows that happy employees are 13% more productive. Companies that prioritize recognition are 12 times more likely to have highly engaged teams. More than half of companies that implemented recognition programs saw an increase in employee engagement. Johnson & Johnson saved $250 million over ten years through health…
Daily Pick: 2005 Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG
I have a great reputation Buying a very expensive car at the end of the depreciation cycle. I've done this with Aston Martins, Ferraris, Porsches, BMWs, etc. It's amazing to be able to buy a new car worth over $150,000 for less than $30,000. They still offer a class-leading experience just like they originally offered at the price of a mid-range Toyota Camry. Today's pick is a 2005 Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG, a perfect example of one of these cars. It was powered by an amazing V12 engine with 604 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque, an interior packed with the best Mercedes had to offer at the time, and modern/classic styling that looks as good now as it did before. The car is new. These features combine to make this SL the perfect open-top GT racer. I attended the press launch for the SL65, so I know from experience that these are truly incredible cars. On a trip from Los…
New York City to reinstate congestion pricing in 2025, $9 daily charge
The fee is cheaper than initially booked, but can still cost drivers thousands of dollars each year November 16, 2024 19:10 New York City is reintroducing congestion pricing, which is set to take effect on January 5. Prices have been significantly reduced, with daytime fares dropping from $15 to $9. Officials believe the fee will reduce traffic, improve air quality and help fund projects. New York City's $15 congestion charge was originally scheduled to take effect on June 30, but New York Governor Kathy Hochul suspended the controversial charge indefinitely weeks before enactment. Unfortunately for drivers, it's not dead yet. On the contrary, Hochul announced that the congestion charge will be implemented at midnight on January 5th. When it comes into effect, drivers entering the Central Business District (CBD) will have to pay $9 for cars and $4.50 for motorcycles. Small trucks and non-commute buses will be charged $14.40, while larger trucks and tour buses will pay more than $21.60.…

Daily Pick: 1947 Ford Super Luxury Car
"There's a Ford In your future! "After the war" in the mid to late 1940s, "Ford" became a popular slogan for Ford as consumer demand rebounded and domestic automobile production resumed to meet demand. Ford luxury cars were among the noteworthy vehicles produced at the time one. The Pick of the Day is a 1947 Ford Super Deluxe 8 Coupe for sale on ClassicCars.com by a private seller in Colorado Springs, Colorado. (Click the link to see the list) “My dad drove this car while serving in the Navy in Kansas,” the listing reads. "He's only the second owner, and it's been in the family for 69 years." The seller says the car has been garaged since 1963 and was restored inside and out in 2017 by Don Sprague of Golden West Enterprises . The "Deluxe" line of cars first entered the Ford family in 1938 as a mid-range product between Ford's "Standard" line and luxury Lincoln cars. Marketing materials…
Daily Pick: 1965 Chevrolet C10 Fleetside
Just something about A lowered, single-cab, short-bed pickup truck. Correction: A few things. Even though it's not a behemoth with a double-digit lift, huge wheels, and earth-ripping tires, it still has a presence. If it were modified with a generous budget it would have go match that exhibit. Our latest Daily Pick, this LS3-powered 1965 Chevrolet C10 Fleetside listed on ClassicCars.com, has both. In 1965, the Chevrolet C10 was offered with a variety of engines, including a 230ci inline-six and a 283ci V8 with 145 horsepower and 245 pound-feet of torque (both net). Of course, it would be nice if this truck still had the original (and slightly upgraded) engine, but whoever replaces it has opted for a worthy successor: an LS3 6.2-liter with polished parts V8 engine. If you look around the engine bay, you'll see other notable components such as the power steering fluid reservoir, body-color brake booster, and dual-circuit master cylinder (for some slow to control that…
Practical ways to promote sustainability in your daily life
Main points Sustainability starts with small, daily actions that together make a big impact. Understanding the benefits of sustainable practices can inspire more people to join the movement. Data and research support the need for sustainable action to protect our planet. Introduction to sustainable development Sustainability is more than just a buzzword, it's a holistic lifestyle designed to support the health and longevity of the planet. From saving energy to reducing waste, every little step counts. One key area where sustainability is receiving increasing attention is childcare. Embracing sustainability in childcare ensures our youngest generations grow up with a keen understanding of environmental stewardship and, ideally, develop lifelong green habits from an early age. The concept of sustainability involves making thoughtful choices in our daily lives that contribute to long-term ecological balance and prosperity. By adopting sustainable practices, everyone can contribute to a healthier planet and a brighter future. Understanding the complex ways our everyday actions impact the environment allows…
Daily Picks: 1987 Ford Bronco XLT
this Daily Selection It's a 1987 Ford Bronco XLT, listed on ClassicCars.com by a South Dakota dealer. There are a number of ways to tell which generation a particular vehicle belongs to. You can do it the old-fashioned way and remember the model year. You can just number it literally, like they number the Corvette: C1 for the first generation, C2 for the second, and so on. Then there's the chassis code, like the BMW E46. Or you can go by nickname. Some Ford vehicles have nicknames. For example, there were the "Dentside" and "Bumpside" F-Series trucks. The same goes for the Bronco. The "Bull Nose" model was produced from 1980 to 1986, giving way to the "Brick Nose" successor from 1987-1991, which, despite having a different connotation, was more aerodynamic in design. Our latest Daily Pick comes from the first model of the fourth generation of the Bronco. The seller didn't provide much information about this 1987 Bronco XLT,…
Daily Pick: 1957 Ford Custom 300 Sedan
Although not common The 1957 Ford models were just as popular as their GM competitors of the same year, and they shared many of the same design elements. The glorious 1950s were a time of bright colors, prominent tail fins, chrome trim, and wide white-rimmed tires. We love seeing it all! Today's pick is a 1957 Ford Custom 300 Sedan, for sale on ClassicCars.com by a private seller in Canon City, Colorado. (Click on the link to view the listing) "Very shiny, lots of chrome," the listing begins. "If the car needs lubricating, oiling, tightening or replacing anything, we'll get it done. Regular maintenance, including oil changes." Ford used the "Custom" nameplate on a variety of cars between 1949 and 1981. Starting in 1957, the Custom and Custom 300 were grouped below the Fairlane and Fairlane 500: The Custom was an entry-level model, marketed primarily to fleets. The 300 model was a cut above it. Price-wise, it was positioned as…
Daily Pick: 1962 Dodge Lancer 770
Detroit's response In 1960, the Ford Big Three introduced three imports, and several sister models were introduced that same year: the Mercury Comet joined the Ford Falcon mid-year, and the Valiant-styled Dodge Lancer arrived in 1961. Our pick today is a 1962 Dodge Lancer 770, with the exact same body as the Valiant, but with different styling and a fancier interior. A seller in Jarrell, Texas, has listed this car for sale on ClassicCars.com. (Click the link to view the listing.) 1961 Dodge Lancer In 1960, the all-new A-body Valiant was introduced as a separate brand, but it was officially merged into Plymouth in 1961. Dodge succeeded that year with its own version, which it named the Lancer. Previously a name used to distinguish Dodge's hardtops from sedans, the new Lancer was distinguished from the Valiant by a horizontal grille and quad headlights at either end; round taillights at the rear hinted at the direction of full-size Dodge cars for…
Daily Pick: 1966 Ford Mustang
The Original Mustang Pony Car When it was introduced 60 years ago, the car was an undisputed success: within two years of its launch, Ford's three assembly plants produced nearly 1.3 million vehicles. A 1966 Ford Magazine ad read, “What do you do after you’ve built a million Mustangs? Start with the two million!” By 1966, Ford had diversified the Mustang model to include hardtop, convertible, and fastback models, with both inline-six and V8 powertrains. No wonder the car was so popular and a sales success. Today's pick is a 1966 Ford Mustang, for sale on ClassicCars.com by a private seller in Las Cruces, New Mexico. (Click on the link to view the listing) "The car has been well-maintained throughout and has undergone additional restoration in recent years," the listing reads. "The next owner won't have to think about spending a lot to keep this car in near-perfect condition as many parts have been updated." The Mustang Sport caught on…
Daily Pick: 1963 Buick Riviera
this Daily Selection This is a 1963 Buick Riviera that is being sold on ClassicCars.com by a dealer in Pennsylvania. Image source: If you’ve seen some old car ads, you’ll notice that some manufacturers were directly targeting male buyers. Mercury clearly identified its target customer. According to them, “a man’s car should ride as well as a Lincoln Continental,” which is why they incorporated what they learned from the Lincoln Continental into the Mercury Marquis. In another Marquis ad, Mercury wrote over its tagline “Mercury, a man’s car”: “A man likes a big seat, so we gave it to him.” Image source: In contrast, Buick's 1963 Riviera brochure states that men and Women will appreciate it. They think ladies will love its "unusually clean, sculptural lines" and the look of its hand-stitched interior. Men will be drawn to the Riviera's standard 325-horsepower, 445-pound-foot Wildcat 401ci V8, 340-horsepower engine, and "aircraft-like cockpit." I think men and women alike will agree that…

Daily Pick: Custom 1966 Chevrolet Nova Station Wagon
Two-door station wagon The Nova is an interesting footnote in postwar American automotive history, as most manufacturers had phased out the body style by the early 1960s. Chevrolet produced one in 1965, but our pick of the day, a custom 1966 Chevrolet Nova wagon, challenges that view. A dealer in Kentwood, Michigan, has listed the car on ClassicCars.com. (Click on the link to see the listing) 1964 Chevelle 300 Coupe In the world of Chevy, two-door station wagons tend to be the lower-priced model, but the Nomad was an exception. Throughout the 1955 Chevrolet lineup, both the 150 and 210 were offered with a two-door station wagon. The last year for full-size two-door station wagons was 1959, when the Biscayne line (the replacement for the 150) was offered with a model called the Brookwood. The introduction of the Corvair in 1960 didn't bring any new two-door wagons; nor did the more conventional 1962 Chevy II. But when Chevrolet introduced the…
Daily Picks: 1974 MG MGB Roadster
Age is just a number, right? Some cars are so well maintained that you wouldn't notice they're half a century old. If a car is a bright yellow two-seat convertible with a sports suspension and a manual transmission, its fun is timeless - even if it's 50 years old. Today's Featured is a 1974 MG MGB Roadster, for sale on ClassicCars.com by a private seller in Tucson, Arizona. (Click on the link to view the listing) The listing states that it has been “garaged mostly.” The seller says the car is rust-free, and the photos back that up (photos 28-35 show the underbody in detail). Perhaps the car is in such good condition because of the preservative that was used to protect it when it was new. The original MG MGB was produced from 1962 onwards and had a lifespan of approximately 18 years. Assembly was initially carried out by the British Motor Corporation and later by British Leyland. Some…
Daily Pick: 1966 Pontiac Bonneville Convertible
Third in the industry Plymouth was rightfully in the spot, but two brands pushed Mopar out of third place during the 1960s: Rambler and Pontiac. Pontiac held onto that spot for most of the decade, thanks to our featured 1966 Pontiac Bonneville convertible today. A dealer in Des Moines, Iowa, has it listed for sale on ClassicCars.com. (Click the link to see the listing.) A page from a 1965 Pontiac brochure 1966 was a year of improvement for Pontiac's full-size models, following a redesign in 1965 that was a huge success: the entire Pontiac lineup won Car TrendsPontiac was named Car of the Year for its styling and engineering. The 1966 model year saw a simpler, more elegant design, with no turbine headlights and a more angular grille. The overall effect was just as good as the '65 model, which may make it hard for Pontiac enthusiasts to decide which year they like best. The Catalina continues to play the…
Daily Picks: 1998 Mercedes-Benz SL500
Last weekend At the Radnor Hunt Antique Car Show in Pennsylvania, I had the opportunity to test drive my friend Tim McNair's Mercedes-Benz SL500. This was exciting because, up until that point, I had only put about 10 miles on one. I had heard about how good they were, but I had yet to truly experience one. The SL500 that Tim had was a great example, with only 25,000 original miles on it, and was a great example of how a good SL500 should drive. I have to tell you, the SL500 is a near-perfect 1990s GT car. It's the kind of car you can take to local car shows, Mercedes club events, work, or even off-road. It's built and finished to perfection, and these cars drive just as well as their fans say they do. If there's a better deal on a high-end convertible European GT, I can't think of one that does. Our pick for today is one…
Daily Pick: 1966 Volvo 1800S
this Daily Selection It's a 1966 Volvo 1800S, listed on ClassicCars.com by a dealer in Pennsylvania. Before I talk myself into buying this car, buy it. As some of you may know, I used to own a 1966 Volvo 1800S. Mine was white with a black leather interior and Minilite style alloy wheels. I even restored it. I also took my 1800S on two cross-country trips, once from California and once back to California for Monterey Car Week, where I sold it to a guy down the street and turned it in to them the Monday after a week of festivities. I should never have sold it. Image credit: Volvo Cars My love for the Volvo 1800S is closely tied to the British TV show The Saint. I loved the show as a teenager and this car was as much a part of the show as Sir Roger Moore. Every week, his character, Simon Templer, would go on spy-like adventures,…
Daily Picks: 2007 Cadillac XLR-V
this Daily Selection It's a 2007 Cadillac XLR-V listed on ClassicCars.com by a New York dealer. In a 1976 brochure, Cadillac called its Eldorado convertible "the last of its kind" and warned readers: "This is the only convertible currently built in America—there won't be another like it for 1977." Sure enough, the 1977 Eldorado brochure didn't show a convertible, but its predecessor wasn't the last of its kind. Cadillac released the updated Eldorado Biarritz convertible in 1984. The Pinifarina-designed Allante followed for the 1987 model year. Its successor, the XLR, arrived in 2004. In the years leading up to the XLR's release, Cadillac made some major changes to its product line. By the 2004 model year, it already had two SUVs: the SRX and the Escalade. It also decided to appeal to performance-minded buyers with its V-Series of cars, starting with the LS6-powered CTS-V sedan. The XLR benefited from Cadillac's focus on building cars that combine comfort with performance. First,…
Daily Picks: 1992 Honda Civic VX Hatchback
Honda has long Honda is known for its innovation when it comes to energy efficiency. Back in the early 1970s, Honda designed and patented a technology called CVCC (Compound Vortex Controlled Combustion), which was a leader in optimizing the combustion cycle, reducing emissions and achieving maximum fuel tank range. Civics and Accords on the U.S. market at the time were among the many vehicles that used CVCC engines. Decades later, Honda is still at it. The 1992 Civic VX raised the bar for fuel economy in the compact hatchback class with an efficient 16-valve engine, a lightweight chassis, and a body shape that minimized wind resistance while providing stable handling. Today's pick is a 1992 Honda Civic VX Hatchback, for sale on ClassicCars.com by a private seller in Bangor, Maine. (Click on the link to view the listing) "This highly desirable single-owner car will only be sold to someone who understands its historical significance in the development of Honda's legendary…
Daily Pick: 1931 Ford Pickup Truck Restomod
Despite the rich rewards Restoring a car, I can attest firsthand, is expensive, time-consuming, and very stressful. The alternative is to skip right to the fun part: paying a little more up front and getting something that's already ready to show (and maybe even win awards)! Today's pick is a 1931 Ford half-ton street pickup truck for sale on ClassicCars.com by a private seller in Moraga, California. (Click on the link to view the listing.) What we have here is a vintage-styled car that mounts an original Henry Ford steel truck body on a Roy Brizio powder-coated frame. Key engineering elements include a Heidts independent front suspension, a 1932 grille, and an aluminum three-piece hood. Under the hood is a 1970 351ci Cleveland V8 that was bored 0.020 inches larger than the original and balanced. I admire the builder of this truck for retaining all of the Ford components, as we often see small-block Chevy engines used in models like…
Daily Pick: 1973 Pontiac Grand Am
1973 2013 was a rough year for Detroit. Nothing good seemed to come of the world of federal regulation, engine bays were cluttered with exhaust pipes, and awkward front bumpers marred styling. However, all was not lost, as Pontiac had a car that would hopefully please the public: the 1973 Grand Am. A dealer in Ramsey, Minnesota, has listed this car of the day for sale on ClassicCars.com. (Click on the link to view the listing) If you didn't know already, Pontiac was the most powerful brand in the 1960s. While Pontiac wasn't the best-selling brand in the United States (Chevrolet was number one), its image was so strong that it outsold perennial third-place Plymouth for much of the 1960s. Pontiac, of course, is hailed as a beacon of the performance car market in the 1960s. Its Super Duty 421 was a huge success on the drag strip and in NASCAR, but when GM decided to exit racing, Pontiac was…
Daily Pick: 1967 Mercury Cyclone GT
Marketing is fun There's a thing - there's one time a company feeds you a name you shouldn't forget, only for you to forget it a few years later. The 1967 Mercury Comet is a perfect example, so we've chosen a 1967 Mercury Cyclone as our Pick of the Day to discuss this further. This car is listed for sale on ClassicCars.com by a dealer in Mesa, Arizona. (Click the link to view the listing.) Comet Mercury 1960 When the Comet first entered the automotive world, it was Mercury's version of the Ford Falcon, a completely mundane compact car that set sales records for Ford. The Comet was just as mundane, but it had a more modern look (i.e., rear fins) that gave it a bit more style. And, like the Falcon, the Comet was one of the early barrel-console cars, setting the template for the small car market that would emerge a few years later. In 1966, the Comet…
Daily Pick: 1976 Mercury Cougar XR-7
This may seem strange In 1974, the Mercury Cougar evolved from a compact to a midsize car, but truth be told, the purpose of the car remained the same. Our pick today is a 1976 Mercury Cougar XR-7, the last luxury feline cruiser before Mercury revamped the Cougar to appeal to more mainstream consumers. This Cougar is listed for sale on ClassicCars.com by a dealer in Lenoir, Tennessee. (Click on the link to view the listing) 1967 Mercury Cougar The Mercury Cougar was originally introduced by Ford Motor Company as a way to see if the market was interested in a premium small car. Although the Cougar was based on the Mustang, it had unique styling with hidden headlights, sequential taillights, and a standard V8 engine. A few months later, the XR-7 was introduced, and the Cougar became very luxurious thanks to its woodgrain dashboard, European switchgear, and leather interior. In 1971, the larger and heavier Cougar arrived, still with…
Daily Pick: 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air
Chevrolet Chevrolet had a great time in the mid-1950s with its Triple Five series of cars. In 1956, Chevrolet sold more than 1.5 million vehicles, continuing its momentum after introducing an all-new model design a year earlier: a coupe, convertible, sedan and station wagon. Today's pick is a 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air two-door hardtop for sale on ClassicCars.com by a private seller in Breckenridge, Colorado. (Click on the link to view the listing) Bel Airs have been a regular feature of the Wall Street Journal, no doubt in large part due to the huge sales when they were new. The 1955 to 1957 models are a popular platform for preservation and modification in the modern collector car world. To put that into context, at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale, Arizona earlier this year, about 20 1955 Bel Airs alone were sold. Chances are, someone in your personal network of car enthusiasts has owned a Tri-Five Chevy at one time or…
Daily Pick: 1959 Chevrolet Brookwood Station Wagon
It is said that Absence makes longing grow fonder. Many of us in the automotive world lament the passing of the station wagon, even though not too long ago we probably wouldn't want to be seen driving one. But are SUVs still okay? Allow me to introduce you to our pick of the day, a 1959 Chevrolet Brookwood Station Wagon that will make you reevaluate your practicality needs. It's listed on ClassicCars.com by a dealer in Orange, California. (Click on the link to view the listing) The story of Chevrolet and every other GM brand in 1959 is well known, so rather than rehash those stories that you can read elsewhere, we’ll discuss Chevy’s station wagon game, as this may be confusing to those who think every Chevy station wagon is a Nomad 1959 Chevrolet Brookwood Station Wagon Looking back at the Tri-Fives, the 150, 210, and Bel Air series all had wagons. The 150 and 210 both had the…
Daily Pick: 1985 Ford Escort GL
When escort Introduced in 1981, Ford touted it as a "world car," sharing architecture with its European brethren. Yet when the Escort was introduced, it bore little resemblance to the plucky European cars. More than 400,000 of our featured model of the day were produced, but when was the last time you saw a 1985 Ford Escort? This GL three-door is listed on ClassicCars.com by a dealer in Latrobe, Pennsylvania. (Click on the link to see the listing) [embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GAAzlGyyz40[/embed] If you're American like me, your first exposure to the Ford Escort was probably the Matchbox Mark II Escort. So when I sat down in front of the TV in the fall of 1980 and saw the Escort commercial, it was a completely different car than the 1978 RS2000 I had in my toy pile. The Escort had the flags of all the major countries of the world printed on its hood to convey a world car vibe. "Build the world...…
Daily Pick: 1950 Chevrolet Styleline Deluxe
Life in the 1950s It was a time of optimism, prosperity, and the pursuit of the American Dream. One of the iconic cars that was common on the roads during that era was the Chevrolet Grand Tourer. In the 1950 model year alone, Chevrolet sold over 1.5 million of the cars. One of these cars has survived the last 75 or so years and is now on the collectors' market: Today's pick is a 1950 Chevrolet Styleline Deluxe Coupe, for sale on ClassicCars.com by a private seller in Salem, Oregon. The car was repainted in 2018 in what the seller calls Spectra Master Blue. The final look is neat, and one of the unique exterior design elements is a set of Chevrolet Corvette polished aluminum hubcaps wrapped in Coker Classic wide whitewall tires. The paint looks well-maintained, and a…
Daily Pick: 1970 Plymouth ‘Cuda
I won't bury Here's the intro to my pick of the day. This 1970 Plymouth 'Cuda is one of the most beautiful cars on the planet and the best I've ever seen. I had the pleasure of judging this car in person a few years ago at the Future Classic Car Show (now the Future Collectible Car Show) during Arizona Auction Week and was blown away by the restoration. If that wasn't enough, two other judges on my team are renowned classic car restorers who were just as blown away by this car as I was (here's how we judged this car). The sellers of this car spared no expense in restoring it. According to them, this 1970 Cuda was a fairly well-known race car in the Chicago area when it was new. During its racing days, the car was maroon, but you can still see its original Limelight Green paint color under the carpet and in parts of the…
Daily Pick: 1985 Ferrari 308 Quattrovalvole
ferrari maybe Ferrari is the most admired and sought-after brand in the world, but not all Ferraris are admired. In the case of the Pininfarina-designed 308, it's far more admired, a product of the Malaise era. In recent years, the 308 has attracted a large number of enthusiasts who appreciate its combination of refined styling and a classic mid-mounted V8 engine. Our pick today, this 1985 Ferrari 308 GTS Quattrovalvole, is one of the best of these sports cars. It's listed on ClassicCars.com by a seller in Voorhees, New Jersey. (Click the link to view the listing.) The 308 GTB and GTS have long been the red-headed stepchildren of the Ferrari world, but their origins lie in another child: Dino. Alfredo Ferrari (often called Alfredinoor "Little Alfred", hence the name Dino) was Enzo's son and died in 1956 of muscular dystrophy at the age of 24. Dino was trained in his father's racing team before Enzo started producing his own…

Daily Pick: 2003 Chevrolet S-10 Xtreme Pickup
Although Driving a 190-horsepower compact pickup truck sounds far from exciting, but the packaging around it makes for a fun but still practical driving experience in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Is the S-10 Xtreme really that extreme? Probably not, but it's definitely unique. Today's pick is a 2003 Chevrolet S-10 Xtreme pickup truck for sale on ClassicCars.com from a private seller in Pottersville, Pennsylvania. (Click on the link to view the listing) The S-10 was originally introduced in 1982 as a small, affordable, versatile pickup truck. It replaced the previous Chevrolet "Light Utility Vehicle" (LUV), which was actually a rebadged/imported Isuzu KB pickup truck. A year later in 1983, the S-10 Blazer sport utility vehicle was introduced on the same platform, giving GM a strong light vehicle portfolio. The second generation model was introduced in 1994, which made the S-10 (and its GMC-branded sibling, the Sonoma) more competitive with the Ford Ranger. Five years later, the "Xtreme" package…
Daily Pick: 1970 Plymouth Road Runner Convertible
Automobile manufacturers Detroit automakers have a strange habit of letting their accountants get away with undermining the fairness of certain models. It has happened in the past and will continue to happen. An example of this phenomenon is our pick today, a 1970 Plymouth Road Runner convertible. A dealer in Milford, Michigan, has it listed for sale on ClassicCars.com. (Click on the link to view the listing) After the Road Runner's success in 1968, Plymouth introduced a companion hardtop to go with the coupe. At the time, product planners had the bright idea to add the Road Runner to a variety of uses, reportedly including a wagon. Huh? But if the Ford Mustang Mach-E is any indication, that seems to be the way of the world. After that squabble died down, we were left with the Road Runner convertible, the only concession for 1969. While the Road Runner was an inexpensive, performance car that lacked frills, Plymouth's product planners wanted…
Daily Pick: 1986 Jeep Cherokee Laredo 4WD
There are very few car enthusiast communities As devout as Jeep fans are. I have a friend from Fort McMurray, Alberta, who drives his Wrangler all the way to Moab, Utah every year for a "Jeep Drive" - about 1,500 miles each way. He calls his fellow Jeeps "Jeeps" and to him they are more like family than car club friends. I totally get it. I feel the same way about my Acura friends. If you've ever thought about joining the Jeep family, you'd be hard-pressed to find a better vehicle than this: Today's pick is a 1986 Jeep Cherokee Laredo 4WD for sale on ClassicCars.com by a dealer in Denver, Colorado. (Click on the link to view the listing) The seller is selling it on consignment and says this Jeep has only had two owners. It will tick a lot of boxes for enthusiasts, especially those who prefer a manual transmission. For about 50 years and five generations, the…
Daily Pick: 1998 Cadillac Eldorado
Applicable to 12 generations For about 50 years, the Cadillac Eldorado coupe has been a hotly contested Personal luxury car When the final generation of the Eldorado debuted in 1992, Cadillac touted the car's engaging driving experience and said, "It could change the way people think about American cars." Today's pick is a 1998 Cadillac Eldorado, for sale on ClassicCars.com by a private seller in Middletown, Delaware. (Click on the link to view the listing) The listing begins: "The sleek, glossy black paint gleams beautifully against the glossy rims." The exterior styling is restrained, which is perhaps why this car has aged so gracefully over the decades. Chrome trim and white-rimmed tires convey a sense of elegance, while the quad exhaust outlets and decklid badge highlight the car's Polestar V8 performance. The name Eldorado (or El Dorado) means "golden (or gilded)" in Spanish, and its origins in the automotive market can be traced back to 1953, when the car debuted…
