Ford and Lincoln are recalling 20,000 hybrid vehicles after the vehicles developed battery problems. January 5, 2025 — Ford Escape Hybrid and Lincoln Corsair Hybrid may need a new battery pack if the battery is defective. The recall includes more than 20,000 2020-2024 Ford Escape Hybrid and 2021-2024 Lincoln Corsair Hybrid vehicles equipped with high-voltage batteries that may suffer from internal short circuits and battery failures. According to Ford: "Due to the battery manufacturing process, the separator layer between the cathode and anode of a high-voltage battery may be susceptible to damage. Damage to the separator may result in a short circuit within the battery."
