Pick of the Day: 1993 Ford Mustang
As early as the 1970swhen the Ford Bronco transformed from a Jeep competitor into an SUV, the Bronco was just a Ford truck that was both practical and fun. It's interesting to see how Ford has adapted the model over time with aerodynamic tweaks, following the same route as Ford's passenger cars. Our daily pick is one of those aerodynamic vehicles, the 1993 Ford Bronco Eddie Bauer Edition. A private seller in Hallsville, Texas, listed the car for sale on ClassicCars.com. (Click on the link to view the auction.) 1980 Ford Mustang (Ford Motor Company) The second-generation Ford Bronco appeared in showrooms in the fall of 1977. Previously, it was a competitor to the Jeep CJ-5, but now it is competing head-on with the Jeep Cherokee and the cross-town upstart - the Jeep Cherokee. Chevrolet Trailblazer. It was updated in 1980, ultimately becoming the template for models that continued into 1996. Still, Bronco fans divided it into generations, with the…
Australia’s 10 cheapest new V8-powered cars
There was a time when the roar of eight-cylinder engines could be heard across Australia. In particular, a pair of quintessential Australian V8s dominate our roads: the Ford Falcon and the Holden Commodore. But those days are gone, and both of the above models no longer exist. Instead, the Australian car market is now dominated by SUVs and pickup trucks, which feature low-displacement turbocharged powertrains with six cylinders or less. While this won't bother many people (and it certainly hasn't stopped us from flocking to buy new cars), some enthusiast buyers still crave V8 power. Hundreds of new car deals are now available through CarExpert. Get the experts on your side and get big rewards. Browse now. Ford MustangChevrolet Silverado 1500BMW X6Chevrolet Corvette The bad news is that by 2024, affordable V8 vehicles will be hard to come by. Ford Mustang recalled due to dashboard failure
Ford is recalling 6,200 Mustangs because the dashboard cluster may appear black. November 4, 2024 — More than 6,200 2024 Ford Mustangs are being recalled because the instrument panel may not light up when the vehicle is started or driven. The instrument cluster displays key information to the driver (speed, warning lights, instruments, etc.). Caution lights (warning lights) are required by law, but for Ford Bronco drivers, these lights won't appear because the dashboard is black. According to Ye Ye’s recollections: "Due to a software initialization issue in the Remote Cluster Box (RCB), a low voltage event may result in loss of communications." Ford learned of the issue during a warranty claim analysis process in August, but no other Ford vehicles have experienced the problem. Between June 11, 2024, and October 7, 2024, Ford was made aware of 58 warranty claims for instrument panels on 2024 Ford Mustangs. However, there have been no reports of crashes or injuries. AutoHunter Spotlight: 1985 Ford Mustang GT
sometimes when it comes When it comes to performance cars, less is more. Today, we've become obsessed with driver-assist features, CarPlay integration, and creature comforts that can take away from the raw feeling of driving. This is perhaps one of the reasons why I stick with classic cars rather than demanding the latest automotive technology. I love driving for the sake of driving, not just to get from point A to point B. Today I found a car that I'm excited to put some miles on: Featured on AutoHunter is this 35,000-mile 1985 Ford Mustang GT for sale by a dealer in Apopka, Florida, where the auction ends Tuesday. When you sit in the driver's seat of this Mustang, you'll notice there's no automatic transmission, no air conditioning, and no radio. But on the other hand, the five-speed manual gearbox connects you directly to the car, there's plenty of airflow available (via the removable T-top), and the audio soundtrack is…
Automakers that allow vehicles to undergo rigorous testing
even under normal circumstancesreporters’ vehicles passed by a lot. When I lived in Texas, I remember a guy who worked for News Fleet Management Services telling me that the two most commonly replaced items were windshields and tires. When a specialized vehicle travels as intended or beyond its usual test radius, the potential for significant damage increases significantly. Fortunately, some automakers understand the risks and are willing to take them to demonstrate what their products can do. Below, I've listed some specific examples where car companies have played it safe while testing their models. On Tracks: 2018 Ford Mustang GT, 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk and 2019 Dodge Charger R/T Scat Pack In 2017, I covered the ChumpCar World Series at Circuit of the Americas. One of the racers I interviewed for my story happened to own a small track south of Austin, Texas. I quickly got the bright idea and asked him if I could test the acceleration, handling…
Pick of the Day: 1973 Ford Mustang Mach 1
1969, winner The winner of the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) Manufacturers' Rally Championship was a Ford Mustang Mach 1. This grueling endurance race involves 8,000 miles of rallying, with Ford ensuring plenty of marketing use from the victory. A magazine ad from the time was titled "Mach 1 is pronounced Mach Won." Today's Featured is a 1973 Ford Mustang Mach 1 for sale on ClassicCars.com from a private seller in Billings, Montana. (Click the link to view the list) "Owned and maintained by the same owner since 1975, this vehicle has been meticulously maintained throughout its life," the listing begins. "No history of collision damage or body repairs. Stored indoors, Never drive in snow; it is completely rust-free." I'm a data geek, so I went straight to a photo of a decorative label. It decodes as follows: Production date: May 1973 Body code 63R: Two-door SportsRoof Mach 1 Color Code 6F: Golden Ray Trim Code GF: Medium Ginger…
Ford Mustang GT History
The GT badge has many meanings Throughout the life of the Ford Mustang. Introduced in 1965 for $165, it became a hit in the 1970s after starring as Steve McQueen's hero car in the 1968 film "Bullitt," before being introduced in the 1980s 5.0 Performance is back, much to Vanilla Ice's delight. While performance is a hallmark of the GT-390, 0-60 mph times haven't dropped significantly in decades. That all changed in 2011, when Ford introduced a new 5.0-liter V-8 engine with dual overhead camshafts. Today, that engine and modern suspension make the Mustang an American icon, good enough to conquer the world. Come review the history of the Mustang GT with us and experience its glory in the United States. 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback GT Kit 1965 Ford Mustang GT Kit The Mustang GT started out not as a model, but as a $165 package that included disc brakes, dual exhaust tips, driving lights in the grille, badging, GT40-inspired…
Pick of the Day: 1970 Ford Mustang “T5”
Ford Mustang It was Detroit's postwar success story, but Ford ran into problems selling the model in Germany. It seems that a company that makes trucks owns the rights to the name. Our Pick of the Day is a 1970 Ford T5 SportsRoof, one of the cars that solves this problem. It is listed for sale on ClassicCars.com by a dealer in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. (Click this link to view the list.) The problem with the Mustang fell to Krupp Steel (now ThyssenKrupp). Krupp's history includes artillery, railroads, tanks and trucks, and it was the production of the latter from 1951 to 1968 that put Ford in trouble until the trademark expired in 1973. That's why the Ford Mustang has another name in Germany. Where did T5 come from? This was Ford's internal code when the original Mustang was taking shape. Why is the production car called T5? I can only suspect that branding the Mustang with another name is…
AutoHunter Spotlight: 1999 Ford Mustang GT
Mustang has always been Known for its fun factor. Back in 1999, Ford's marketing team portrayed an image of a young woman about to take her driving test. Her coach was none other than NASCAR driver Rusty Wallace, who at the time was 44 and still winning trophies. After a series of performance maneuvers on the track, the Mustang slid into position between the two cars. "Parallel park—check," Rusty announced. Featured on AutoHunter is this 1999 Ford Mustang GT with 10K miles on it. The car is being sold by a dealer in Paris, Ky., and the auction will end Thursday. The 1994 Mustang, known internally as the "SN95," is the fourth generation of Ford's popular pony car. Under its skin, the SN95 shares some components with the previous generation of the upcoming Fox platform. The Mustang was named Motor Trend's Car of the Year upon its introduction, and Ford sold about 10,000 more Mustangs in 1994 than in 1993,…
Freewheel kit adds retro style to 2025 Ford Bronco
When you're an automaker This has been around for over a century, you don't just sell new cars. You can also sell your past to those who miss it. Buyers of the 2025 Ford Bronco who want to add some retro flair to their rig can freshen it up with the Free Wheeling appearance package. According to Ford, “Free Wheeling kits were available on Ford F-100, F-150, Bronco, and Econoline vans from the late 1970s to early 1980s and added graphics, paint, and paint with red, orange, and yellow gradients. 2009 Ford Mustang Iacocca 45th Anniversary Edition
this Daily Picks is a 2009 Ford Mustang Iacocca 45th Anniversary Edition listed on ClassicCars.com by a California dealer. Many people know Lee Iacocca as the man who saved Chrysler in the 1980s, but long before that, he was a Ford vice president and the man behind one of Ford's most legendary cars Push hands. "The world's first 'pony' car was the child of Lee Iacocca and Don Frey," Ford said in a 2021 post about the Mustang on its media site. Considered an affordable car that blends luxury and performance in a compact, sporty design”. More than 30 years after being fired from Ford in 1978, Iacocca returned to the Mustang business, producing 45 specially modified "2019 1/2" Iacocca Silver 45th Anniversary Edition Mustangs like the one you see here . As part of its I Legacy business, Iacocca collaborated with designer Michael Leone and Gaffoglio Family Metalcrafters in Fountain Valley, California, to create the commemorative model. To achieve…
Pick of the Day: 1967 Ford Mustang GT Fastback
Ford Mustang were the most important vehicles in Detroit in the 1960s, but which one was the most important? Our Daily Picks are my submissions to answer this tough question. This 1967 Ford Mustang GT 2+2 is listed on ClassicCars.com for sale by a dealer in Green Brook, New Jersey. (Click the link to see the list) If you consider that the 1965 Mustang was the most important year for pony cars, especially the mid-1964 models, they excited Americans more than any other car (despite being introduced very early, both based on the VIN) is from 1965). But the 1967 Mustang—the first redesign—is key to the Mustang's past and future. Let's talk styling first: The 1967 Mustang was very similar to the classic 1965-66 version, but was larger and more refined. The stance is firmer, the styling is more properly integrated (no additional taillights, for example), the interior is more refined (no more under-dash air conditioning), and the options list…
Pick of the Day: 1970 Ford Mustang
this Daily Picks It's a 1970 Ford Mustang listed on ClassicCars.com by a California dealer. Classic SUVs have become increasingly popular over the past few years. On the one hand, this means that many of them have been rescued from the barn and restored to (sometimes more than) their former glory. On the other hand, a lot of them come with lifts and aftermarket wheels and tires, so it's hard to see an original Bronco among all the modifications. As our Pick of the Day, this 1970 Ford Mustang seems to fall somewhere in between those two extremes. As part of a detailed restoration, the first-generation Bronco's frame was powder-coated. The bodywork was media blasted and then covered in new Wimbledon White and Vesta Orange paint, followed by a five-year ceramic protective coating about a year ago. This high-contrast combination makes it instantly recognizable as a classic Mustang. Apparently, this 1970s model has also been modified. However, these upgrades work…
Search for Bigfoot in the 2024 Ford Bronco Sasquatch Searcher
U2 didn’t write "I still haven't found what I'm looking for" about the search for Sasquatch (aka Bigfoot), but the title does fit. People have been searching for the giant, furry, human-like creatures for decades. There is even a scientific research group called the Bigfoot Field Research Group that has been exploring its mystery since 1995. When Ford finally launched the all-new 2020 Bronco, it used the Sasquatch name to represent an off-road-focused model. pack. Now, it's taking another big step forward by launching a sweepstakes offering a customized 2024 Bronco Sasquatch Searcher as the grand prize, which the winner can use to hunt down the behemoth. Ford started with the two-door Bronco Badlands Sasquatch and then strategically added equipment to help drivers complete tasks more easily. The body is wrapped in tree camouflage to help Sasquatch seekers blend into their surroundings. Auxiliary pod lights and light bars on the roof illuminate Bigfoot; front- and rear-mounted dash cams capture footage…
Is a vehicle speeding past a greeting or an attack?
If you have ever driven When you're driving a high-performance car (especially a flashy one) on a public road, you may encounter people driving similar cars zipping past you at unnecessary speeds or showing off their car's performance in various ways. I've been there before. I thought I knew what it meant, but now I'm not so sure. Image credit: Ford I started noticing this behavior a few years ago while driving various media vehicles. The first incident I remember was in Austin, Texas. I was driving a 2015 Ford Mustang GT, waiting for the light ahead to turn from red to green. Before the light turned green, a guy in an older Mustang (maybe an S197?) zipped by on the left. Maybe he was in a hurry and didn't see my test car. Maybe he drives this way all the time. Or maybe he wanted to send a message to Mustang fans. Photo credit: Stellantis The next time something…
2025 Mustang GTD is the fastest, most powerful factory model ever
When Ford announced Coming in August 2023, the Mustang GTD is a limited-production model inspired by the Mustang GT3 that Ford claims will deliver an "estimated 800 horsepower" and will be the "fastest road-going Mustang ever." Now that the wait for official figures is over, it looks like Ford has wisely chosen to underpromise and overdeliver. To achieve the GTD's output goals, the powertrain experts at Ford Performance tweaked the intake and exhaust systems, installed a lightweight titanium exhaust, and used a smaller supercharger pulley. These changes bring horsepower and torque to 815 hp and 664 lb-ft, respectively, an increase of 55 and 39, respectively, over the previous-generation Mustang Shelby GT500. To prevent the engine from starving for oil during high-G turns, they also gave the Mustang its first dry-sump lubrication system. Doing so frees up more revs, raising the redline to 7,650 rpm. Power is sent to the rear 20-inch wheels via an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Ford combined…

Ford Mustang recalled due to broken rear suspension
Ford is recalling more than 5,200 Mustangs that could lose steering control. September 16, 2024 — Ford is recalling more than 5,200 Mustangs because the rear suspension knuckle could fail, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle. The recalled 2024 Ford Mustang rear suspension steering knuckles may have a casting defect that could weaken the components and cause the driver to lose vehicle handling and steering control. According to Ford: “When a parts supplier produces a steering knuckle, the debris filter may be improperly positioned during the casting process, causing slag to enter the part cavity and cause casting defects.” Ford learned of the issue through warranty reports of broken rear suspension knuckles in 2024 Mustangs, but has not received any reports of accidents or injuries. The driver may notice the rear tires leaning outward or inward when braking or applying more throttle. About 620 Ford Mustangs are being recalled in Canada. Ford dealers will inspect and possibly…
Daily Pick: 1966 Ford Mustang
The Original Mustang Pony Car When it was introduced 60 years ago, the car was an undisputed success: within two years of its launch, Ford's three assembly plants produced nearly 1.3 million vehicles. A 1966 Ford Magazine ad read, “What do you do after you’ve built a million Mustangs? Start with the two million!” By 1966, Ford had diversified the Mustang model to include hardtop, convertible, and fastback models, with both inline-six and V8 powertrains. No wonder the car was so popular and a sales success. Today's pick is a 1966 Ford Mustang, for sale on ClassicCars.com by a private seller in Las Cruces, New Mexico. (Click on the link to view the listing) "The car has been well-maintained throughout and has undergone additional restoration in recent years," the listing reads. "The next owner won't have to think about spending a lot to keep this car in near-perfect condition as many parts have been updated." The Mustang Sport caught on…
Diego’s AutoHunter Picks
I recently came back A quick trip to Michigan. Not sure if you're familiar, but the automotive industry is everywhere in this state. You can be far from Detroit and still see a car with a "manufacturer" license plate that hasn't been built yet. I see two Within three days I saw a Buick Regal wagon, although it took me a year to see two in Phoenix. Yes, Michigan is a unique state that stands out when compared to the other 49 states. Detroiters, in particular, are fiercely proud and well aware that their city is a barometer of America. So why is there a Japanese car in the AutoHunter Picks pack below? Honestly, I can't tell you why other than "it's complicated." 1970 Chevrolet Corvette CoupeI was never a big fan of the 1970-72 Corvette grille and exhaust; I preferred the 1968-69. However, the 1970-72 wheel arches gave it a more commanding look, which many people appreciated. Of course,…
1971 429 CJ Mustang Convertible is a double-digit rarity
Ford Mustang Ford led the small car market and remained at the top until 1973, when it fell victim to market forces. During that time, while competing with the Chevrolet Camaro, Pontiac Firebird, Plymouth Barracuda, and Dodge Challenger, Ford never produced a high-performance convertible. Look at the Camaro: You could have a Super Sport convertible with a 396/375 hp engine. Pontiac offered the Firebird 400, which was a convertible with a Ram Air IV engine that made up to 345 hp. The 'Cuda and Challenger R/T convertibles were available with engines starting at the 383 and topping out with the 426 Hemi. All of these were high-performance models that were available as convertibles. But the Mustang (and its sister model, the Cougar) don't like this marketing. Since the first big-bore Mustang was introduced in 1967, there has been no high-performance convertible model. You say GT? It was offered in a lowly 289 standard, because the GT package was mainly aimed…

Loyalty to a company vs. brand agnosticism
Tragedy 1 One of the flaws of being human is that we don’t get to spend all of our lives with our beloved pets. We consider ourselves lucky if a dog or cat makes it to 15 (it’s much easier emotionally for people with turtles). The same is true for most cars. You may love your first car, but statistically, the chances of you still owning it decades later are slim. Cars are constantly wrecked, stolen, corroded, or ridiculously expensive to repair. This means that many of us own multiple cars in our lifetimes. There are two basic ways to complete this chain of ownership: you can stick with one brand, or you can mix it up and try new brands along the way. 1987 Audi 5000S for sale on ClassicCars.com I've seen both. When I was a teenager living outside of Austin, Texas, I would walk around my neighborhood. As a car enthusiast, I would always look at the…
The benefits of owning a boring car
As I told you In my recent article, I wrote that owning a collector car has many benefits. Every time you see it, you fall in love with it all over again, and you have your own unique piece of automotive history. But that doesn't mean that regular, everyday cars are bad. Yes, they're not as inspiring or illuminating.Britainbut they also have many positive qualities. Peace of mind and body Owning a restored vintage or limited edition car is wonderful. But it can also be stressful. You don’t want to dent or scratch any car you drive, but the risk is higher with a collector car. It’s not a travel vehicle, it’s a symbol of achievement, and you want to protect it and keep it in tip-top shape. No one uses a diploma as a coaster or a wedding ring as a keychain. Driving a boring car is less stressful. When things do happen (and they will), no matter how…
Jay Leno takes a lap in a 1964 IndyCar Mustang
Is there a car? What car did you see on TV as a kid and dream of driving one day? Maybe a C3 Corvette or a Ferrari F355. It's entirely possible, but you probably won't drive one of these cars. Precise The cars you see on screen. It's no secret that Jay Leno does things a little differently than your average car enthusiast. As a kid, he watched a Ford Mustang race through the 1964 Indianapolis 500 on black-and-white TV, and now, decades later, he gets the chance to drive it in the latest Jay Leno's Garage video. The problem was, the car didn't belong to Leno. It belonged to Bill Ford, executive chairman of the company that bears his family's name. Although Ford Motor Company built a lot of Mustangs in the 1960s, it prepared only three for the big race. One, according to Ford, wasn't ready in time. The other went to winning driver A.J. Foyt, but it…
Benefits of Owning a Collector Car
In my four-part series I mentioned all the things I learned while driving my 2008 Ford Mustang Bullitt. Many of them were painful lessons, but there are actually a lot of benefits to owning a collector car. I've listed some of those benefits below. You did it! A 1967 Chevrolet Corvette 427 Convertible is available on ClassicCars.com Let's face it: most people don't dream of owning a Toyota Corolla (okay, maybe the 300-horsepower GR version). Many of us saw our dream cars as kids or teens and made it a goal to own them. It feels great to daydream about downshifting in a big-block C3 Corvette or driving an F-150 SVT Lightning, but you know what feels even better? Actually owning a cool car that's yours. Every time you go to the garage, you'll see proof of your dream coming true. Good buy Every time you see that car, something different happens. If you're anything like me, whether it's the…

FeaturedAutomatic Hunter This one is a restored 1971 Ford Mustang Mach 1. It's powered by a ram-air-equipped 429 Cobra Jet, as indicated by the J in the VIN, but this pony car raised the bar with the addition of the Drag Pack, which turned the Cobra Jet into a Super Cobra Jet. Other features include a four-speed manual transmission, Magnum 500 wheels, front and rear spoilers, silver highlights, and more. This Mustang is painted in Bright Blue with a Medium Blue knit vinyl interior and comes with an Elite Marti report (including the window sticker) and a clear title. When this car was restored in 2008, it was finished in a Brilliant Blue Metallic hue. Silver highlights were applied to the lower body, with optional side stripes in the same color. When the 429 Cobra Jet was ordered with ram air, the hood was also painted this matching color. Other features included silver front and rear spoilers, dual racing mirrors,…

Diego’s AutoHunter Picks
I don't think so It would be presumptuous of me to say that most enthusiasts reading this week's AutoHunter picks love speed. But what if that speed doesn't come from an engine that uses gasoline and oxygen to perform some kind of combustion? Boy, this gets political fast! But a while ago, people shared a video of a 50-year-old Japanese car being driven on a drag strip. That Datsun had gone electric, and people were excited about it. Now it looks like the end of the world has come! So, is it safe to say that you would only consider three of the four cars listed below? Or does the LS-powered Pontiac bother you, too? 1971 Ford Mustang Mach 1The Mustang may be the most popular collector car, but its many fans have mixed feelings about the 1971 redesign—yes, it was bigger and heavier, but not as much as you might think. However, if you add the new 429 Cobra…

Wild Horse The Mustang made its debut in 1964This model is widely considered by the automotive community to be the start of the "muscle car" movement of the 1960s and 1970s. Ford introduced it as a "small car," an affordable, sporty, and distinctive vehicle. It was fairly affordable and available with a variety of different engines. Its immediate success paved the way for other manufacturers to offer their own versions of this type of car. The most popular Mustang for 2024 is Ford Mustang GT Premium. The specifications are as follows: engine 5.0-liter V8 spread 10-speed automatic or…
Which cars will be the car enthusiasts of the future?
Do you remember that moment? Are you in love with cars? Most likely. But you may not know when you sparked someone else's passion for cars. You may have fallen in love with cars because of a small toy or just driving by. Such a simple act could change the entire trajectory of someone's life. 1989 Lamborghini Countach for sale on ClassicCars.com Cars have always been a part of my life, but the moment that made me realize them more deeply was at one of my brother’s birthday parties. Among the gifts he received was a white Hot Wheels Lamborghini Countach. Looking back now, I remember that it was more than just a toy to me. It was special and something I had always dreamed of owning. If I remember correctly, my poor brother eventually (reluctantly) gave it to me. 1992 Ford Mustang LX 5.0 Convertible
this Daily Selection yes A Wisconsin dealer has listed a 1992 Ford Mustang LX 5.0 Convertible for sale on ClassicCars.com. I can't speak for all of you, but I've found that as I get older, I've become more grateful. I appreciate life, my family and friends, and the natural wonders of the world, like the beautiful and sometimes strange creatures of the animal kingdom. I also now appreciate things more that I didn't when I was younger, like this Mustang convertible. Of course, I was a kid when this car came out as a 1992 model. Back then, I was more into Hot Wheels, Matchbox, and Majorette cars than full-size cars. Even though I grew up in the 1990s, I never really liked anything that was overtly "90s," not even ironically (though I do have a thing for '90s Ralph Lauren looks). But this Mustang? It caught my eye immediately because it was so wonderful and undeniably a product of…

Recall: Ford Mustang Steering Wheel Haunted
Ford is recalling 30,000 Mustangs because the steering wheel may suddenly turn left or right. July 3, 2024 — Certain Ford Mustang steering wheels may have lifespan issues, according to a recall on 2022-2023 Mustang vehicles. More than 30,700 Ford Mustangs may have an assisted steering torque sensor that is not calibrated correctly. The interesting part is as follows. The issue could cause the Mustang's "steering wheel to turn left or right against the driver's intent." Ford described the problem in detail: “The secondary digital torque sensor in the steering unit is calibrated with reversed polarity. If the primary steering torque sensor fails or malfunctions, and the polarity of the secondary digital torque sensor is reversed, the steering wheel may begin to wiggle without warning (alternating clockwise/counterclockwise) when the driver attempts to steer. The wiggle is due to the electronic power steering providing unintended steering assist.” — Ford Ford launched an internal investigation in May after suppliers said there were…

Bronco owners must replace the low-pressure fuel pump.
