The India-made Renault Triber for the African market was subjected to safety crash tests conducted by the Global New Car Assessment Programme (GNCAP). Although the Triber received a 4-star crash test rating in 2021, it received only two stars under the new rules and regulations. It was deducted points due to inadequate chest protection for the driver and passenger in frontal and side impact tests. The Triber scored 22.29 out of 34 points in Adult Occupant Protection (AOP). In addition, due to the lack of ISOFIX anchorage, the car only scored 19.99 points (out of 49) in Child Occupant Protection (COP).
