Porsche 911 S/T owner lets factory play ‘your mother’ joke
A Porsche 911 S/T owner just took delivery of his new six-figure supercar. He also had Porsche incorporate several interesting custom scripts throughout the car. From the outside, the building, which likely cost more than $300,000, looks unassuming. The Porsche 911 S/T is a truly special car, and its price reflects that—it starts at $290,000 before you even think about checking off any of the myriad options, let alone factoring in potential markups. The S/T was created as a homage to the 911 itself, essentially combining the best parts of the GT3 with a manual gearbox and styling more suited to the road than the track. Now, one owner has taken that relaxed attitude and allowed Porsche to incorporate it even further into the cabin. var adpushup = window.adpushup = window.adpushup || {que:()}; adpushup.que.push(function() { if (adpushup.config.platform !== "DESKTOP"){ adpushup.triggerAd("0f7e3106 -c4d6-4db4-8135-c508879a76f8"); } else { adpushup.triggerAd("82503191-e1d1-435a-874f-9c78a2a54a2f"); The owner received a spec on December 2 which he called ABE or "All Black…
Ford patent could play ads through car speakers
Ford remains mum on whether the system will eventually enter production go through Brad Anderson November 21, 2024 11:54 Ford may see these personalized ads as a great money-making tool. The company has not yet confirmed whether the system will go into production. In addition to display ads, ads can also be played through car speakers. Go for a walk in a densely populated area and you will be bombarded with ads. Turn on your phone and you won't be able to escape ads promoting products that promise to change your life. Sit down and open an old-fashioned newspaper and you'll often see full-page ads. Ford could soon start rolling out personalized ads in the infotainment systems of future models. In February 2023, Ford applied for a technology patent for such a system in the United States. Released recently, it can display ads on a vehicle's infotainment screen. More annoyingly, it can also play ads through the car's speakers and…

A place for your dukes to play
i have my sister Well trained. Whenever she stumbles upon an old car, she'll send me pictures and text me, "I saw a 4-4-2 today!" or something like that. It had been a while since she'd sent me anything, so I was delighted when she came to Coote's store in Virginia last weekend and showed me the automotive treasures inside. If you remember, actor Ben Jones played Kurt on the adorable TV show "The Dukes of Hazzard." After the show was canceled in 1985, Jones ran for Congress in Georgia's 4th Congressional District. Although he lost, Jones was given a chance to rematch with the same (corrupt) incumbent official and won in a landslide. After being ousted a few years later, he returned to Hollywood to star in several movies, as well as two "Dukes of Hazzard" reunions. In the late 1990s, Jones and his wife moved to Virginia. In 1999, they created Cooter's Museum and Theme Store "The Dukes…

Ford F-650 and F-750 recalled over tie rod issue
The ball studs in Ford Super Duty trucks were not properly heat treated. July 5, 2024 — Ford is recalling more than 2,600 F-650 and F-750 Super Duty trucks because tie rods could break and cause the driver to lose control. The recalled 2025 Ford F-650 and F-750 trucks are equipped with front axle tie rod assemblies that may contain improperly heat-treated ball studs. This may cause the tie rod to break. According to Ford's recall documents: "The front axle of the affected vehicles may have improperly heat treated tie rod ball studs that may crack and break. Failure of the tie rod ball studs may cause the front axle tie rod to disconnect from the steering knuckle and the passenger side wheel may become disconnected from the steering system." Ford said the sub-supplier mixed a batch of ball studs that used an experimental heat treatment process, causing the problem. Truck owners should watch out for front-end noise or excessive…
