Kia is recalling 75,000 Sorento, Sorento Hybrid and Sorento plug-in hybrid vehicles due to a software issue. January 19, 2025 — The Kia Sorento recall involves about 75,000 vehicles that may lose low-beam and taillights due to a software issue. The recalled models include 2024-2025 Kia Sorento, 2025 Kia Sorento Hybrid and 2025 Kia Sorento plug-in hybrid electric vehicles. Kia said the culprit in the crash was a software error in the body domain control unit. On January 7, Kia decided to recall the Sorento in South Korea due to a software problem that caused "exterior/interior lighting to temporarily disappear while driving." Kia searched the U.S. Kia Sorento and found no complaints about low-beam headlight or taillight issues, but if they occur, the issues could be dangerous.
