Toyota RAV4 Liftgate Hinge Replacement Lawsuit
It is said that a faulty Toyota RAV4 liftgate hinge caused the replacement hinge to be also defective. November 28, 2024 — Toyota RAV4 Liftgate Hinge Replacement Lawsuit alleges customers could be paying thousands of dollars to replace their rear liftgates due to hinge failure. The Toyota RAV4 power tailgate is mainly connected by a hinge and a strut (actuator), but the lawsuit claims that the hinge is defective and causes the tailgate to fail. The RAV4 liftgate hinge replacement class action lawsuit was originally filed by one owner, but the class action now includes four customers: Plaintiffs Zach Hughes, Zach Armstrong, Audie Murphy and Carl Venola. The vehicles were purchased at Toyota dealerships located in California (Hughes), Minnesota (Armstrong), Maryland (Murphy) and Florida (Winola). The plaintiffs argued that the vehicles were equipped with tailgate hinges that could not withstand the weight and force of opening and closing a power tailgate. Toyota recalls 34,000 vehicles in Gulf states

GST said the recall was necessary because the carrying capacity modification labels may show inaccurate increased weight values.
