Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana Vans subject to multiple recalls
General Motors is recalling 85,000 trucks that may be traveling in the wrong direction. November 17, 2024 — General Motors has recalled more than 85,000 Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana vans that may suffer from various problems related to the transmission control module software. The recalled 2022-2023 Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana vans may experience difficulty shifting, reduced power, unexpected deceleration and rear wheel locking. GM also said the trucks could travel at low speeds in unexpected directions. "Affected powertrain combinations include 4.3L V6 engine with 8-speed automatic transmission (RPO LV1/M5U) and 4-cylinder engine combination with 8-speed automatic transmission (RPO LWN/MQD)." — General Motors Truck drivers can be in real danger if the rear wheels lock up while driving or if the truck suddenly moves at low speed in an unexpected direction. The next generation of Mercedes Vito and V-Class vans will arrive in 2026 and will be fully electric Mercedes has released official "spy shots" of its next-generation midsize electric van.
