The Branson Lake Area Chamber of Commerce and CVB and Taney County Partners have hired Matthew Adkins as vice president/chief economic development officer. Adkins assumed the position on Thursday, January 2, 2025.
Matthew Adkins, a Kentucky native, is an effective economic development leader who has led multiple community and economic development organizations in Kentucky over the past five years. With expertise in business recruitment and retention, workforce development, and public policy, Adkins has secured numerous grants, drafted strategic development plans, and facilitated collaborations among local, state, and federal partners. This collaborative approach plays an important role in driving sustainable growth and improving quality of life in the region. Working for and in partnership with the Branson Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce and CVB and Taney County partners will include opportunities to use a holistic economic development approach.
Adkins holds an MBA from Northern Kentucky University and was named the Kentucky Economic Development Association Young Professional of the Year in 2023 for securing more than $300 million in capital investment and creating more than 400 jobs along the I-71 corridor .
Adkins shared his enthusiasm for the position, saying, “I have always found the tools and resources the Chamber provides to address all aspects of economic development, from entrepreneurship to healthcare, childcare, housing, business and retail, education, transportation and even manufacturing. With the opportunity to work with these two organizations, I think we will be able to continue to push the boundaries of innovation and improve the quality of life for citizens and visitors to the region.”

The Taney County Partnership (TCP) is a public-private partnership focused on economic development efforts in Taney County, Missouri. The partnership consists of a dedicated group of Taney County, cities and villages within the county, the Branson Lake Area Chamber of Commerce, and business sector stakeholders. All members of TCP are represented on the Board of Directors. The Partnership is an organization led by a Board of Directors.
