The Indian-made Mahindra XUV 3XO is launched in South Africa;

Launched in India in April this year, the Mahindra XUV 3XO is now available in South Africa with prices ranging from R2,54,999 to R4,04,999 (approximately Rs 12.16 lakh to Rs 19.31 lakh). While most of the exterior and interior features remain the same, the global-spec SUV differs from its Indian counterpart in terms of engine options and cosmetic changes. For the uninitiated, the SUV is available in nine variants in India (MX1, MX2, MX2 Pro, MX3, MX3 Pro, AX5, AX5 Luxury, AX7 and AX7 Luxury) with prices ranging from Rs 7.49 lakh to Rs 15.49 lakh (ex-showroom). Mahindra XUV 3XO South Africa: Exterior and Interior

The Mahindra XUV 3XO in South Africa is similar to the Indian model with features like automatic LED projector headlamps, piano black grille with chrome slats, C-shaped LED daytime running lights (DRL), front bumper with camera, silver skid plate, 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels and connected LED tail lamps. However, inside, the layout is almost similar, though there are some changes like an all-black cabin and black leatherette seats. For reference, the Indian model gets a dual-tone black and white theme with white leatherette seats.

Mahindra XUV 3XO South Africa: Features

In terms of configuration, the South African version is equipped with a 7-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, a panoramic sunroof, two 10.25-inch screens, a wireless phone charger, and dual-zone air conditioning with rear vents. It is also equipped with a 360-degree camera with a blind-view monitor, traction control, anti-rollover device, six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC) with hill hold and descent control, all-wheel disc brakes, and ADAS. It is worth noting that these amenities also appear in the Indian version.

Mahindra XUV 3XO South Africa: Engine

In India, the SUV is available with three engine options: 1.2-litre mStallion-TGDi with 129 hp and 230 Nm of torque, 1.2-litre mStallion TCMPFi with 110 hp and 200 Nm of torque, and 1.5-litre turbodiesel with 115 hp and 300 Nm of torque. While in South Africa, the Mahindra XUV 3XO is only available with the 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine, mated to either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic gearbox.
