family dayOctober 13th kicks off, Car Day for all agesththe final day of Barrett-Jackson’s 2024 Scottsdale Fall Auctions. The auction, hosted by Gila River Resorts & Casinos, featured more than 120 stunning vehicles rolling through the neighborhood for young and old to enjoy.
Family Day kicked off with a car auction and a performance of the national anthem by the Phoenix Children’s Choir before the stage was filled with the sights and sounds of collectible vehicles. The top bidder was an excellent 1969 Dodge Charger R/T painted in “B5” Bright Blue Metallic with a white vinyl top and stripe delete. The muscular Mopar was just one of several American muscle icons to make it to the top of the list that day.

Another appearance at the Barrett-Jackson show is the Future Collector Car Show (FCCS), a next-generation showcase of the evolution of the American car hobby. While the hobby’s stalwarts remain strong, a slew of new classics are emerging on collectors’ radars. Many future collectibles were made in the 1980s (if not later) and were often highly personalized – not that different from previous generations, to be honest. Interesting Japanese market cars and modified European cars dominate the scene, but American cars are still a part of the mix. More than 100 future collectibles participated in the event, with Brent Coleman’s 1998 Mitsubishi Mirage winning Best of Show.
The most popular event at Family Day (and a favorite among regular attendees from previous days) is the adrenaline-filled action of the Dodge and GR Supra Thrill Rides on the show track. This experience gives guests the opportunity to sit in the passenger seat, buckle up, and speed off on an adventure on a closed track.
Barrett-Jackson will return to Westworld Scottsdale for the 2025 Scottsdale Auction from January 18-26. The granddaddy of Barrett-Jackson events, the January auction will once again crank the excitement up to 11 for another exciting event, so be sure to mark your calendars!
