Tow truck driver's genius plan to flip SUV? Apparently a crushed Scion
  • This bizarre series of events follows a recent car accident in McAllen, Texas.
  • The tow truck driver appeared to be under close surveillance by the officer.
  • Despite several attempts, the tow truck driver gave up, but the internet certainly didn’t.

We don’t envy a tow truck driver’s job, but if we were to guess, flipping a rollover on a flatbed is definitely not something they teach you in training. Apparently, this driver thought a little differently, and that’s putting it nicely.

Last Monday, two cars collided in McAllen, Texas, and while we don’t have video of the accident itself, we can see the aftermath. The video starts with a dark gray Scion tC lying on a flatbed while a silver Buick SUV also flips on its side. That’s when the craziness begins.

The tow truck driver pushes the flatbed forward, pushing it and the crumpled front end of the Scion onto the roof of the overturned Buick. He makes several adjustments to the position and angle of the flatbed, including lifting it up, in an attempt to tip the tC over. He is able to move the Buick slightly, but after trying for a few seconds, he appears to give up. A man in a police uniform can be seen watching in the background.

We don’t know what the driver was thinking. Most likely, he thought it was a good way to save time, and as we know, time is money. Maybe he hoped to be able to load both vehicles onto the flatbed, otherwise he would either have to return to the site to pick them up or have them towed away by another truck. Regardless, all we can say is that it was a bold strategy.
