Bajaj Auto’s domestic sales fell 19% year-on-year in two weeks
In December 2024, Bajaj Auto's total sales reached 323,000 vehicles, a slight decrease of 1% from last year's 327,000 vehicles. In terms of two-wheelers, domestic sales fell 19% to 1.28 lakh units. However, exports performed well, jumping 15% to 144,000 units. All in all, Bajaj Auto sold 2.72 lakh two-wheelers, down 4 per cent from 2.83 lakh units in the same month last year. Bajaj's overall growth in commercial vehicles is impressive compared to two-wheelers. Mahindra has announced that its wholesales stood at 76,755 units in August, up 9% year-on-year. In the same period last year, the company had shipped a total of 70,350 units to dealers. According to a statement from the leading homegrown automaker, its domestic passenger vehicle (PV) sales grew 16% to 43,277 units from 37,270 units in August last year. Also, total exports grew 26% to 3,060 units last month, up from 2,423 units last year. The company reported total tractor sales of 21,917 units last month, compared to 21,676 units in the same period last year, a slight increase of 1%. Tata Motors’ total domestic passenger vehicle sales fell 3% year-on-year
Tata Motors saw a decline in sales across multiple categories in August 2024. Last month, the company sold a total of 71,693 vehicles (domestic and international), which is much lower than the 78,010 units it sold last year. Of the total sales, the company delivered 70,006 vehicles in the domestic market, which is 8% lower year-on-year from the 76,261 units sold in August 2023. Talking about passenger cars, the manufacturer supplied 44,142 units domestically and 44,486 units overall, both down 3% year-on-year. In August this year, the company sold 5,935 electric vehicles, which is 5% less than the 6,236 electric vehicles it sold last year. Tata Motors has reported a decline in passenger vehicle sales in July 2024. The company sold 44,954 passenger vehicles last month, down from 47,689 units in 2023. This means that the automaker's sales fell by 6%. The data includes domestic and international sales figures of ICE and electric vehicles. Further, the automaker announced that it sold 44,725 vehicles in the domestic PV market in India last month, which is 6% lower than 47,628 units in the same period last year.
