Isuzu Motors India recently reached a major milestone by producing its 100,000th vehicle at its Sri City plant in Andhra Pradesh. This achievement is celebrated with the launch of the highly regarded Isuzu D-MAX V-Cross, which is renowned for its rugged construction. Isuzu Motors India started operations in 2016 with the opening of its Sri City plant. In 2020, the company entered the second phase of construction and launched the stamping workshop and engine assembly workshop to enhance production capacity. Since then, the plant has produced more than 1.4 million stamped parts.
In the passenger car segment, Isuzu offers the premium MU-X SUV priced at Rs 37 lakh and the popular D-Max V-Cross pickup truck priced starting at Rs 25.51 lakh. Both prices are ex-showroom. In addition, the company also launched S-Cab and D-Max models to serve the commercial vehicle market to meet various customer needs.
Isuzu MU-X, D-Max V Cross: Mechanical details
Talking about the mechanical aspects, the MU-X is powered by a 1.9-liter diesel engine that delivers 161 hp and 360 Nm of torque. It comes in 4×2 and 4×4 versions, each with a six-speed automatic transmission. 4×4 models are further enhanced with an ‘Instant Shift’ knob for improved off-road performance. It faces competition from segment leaders like Toyota Fortuner and MG Gloster.

The 2024 D-Max V-Cross is also powered by a 1.9-liter four-cylinder diesel engine that produces 163 hp and 360 Nm of torque, mated to a six-speed manual transmission or a torque converter. The truck is available in four-wheel and rear-wheel drive configurations. The lifestyle pickup truck features sporty exterior elements such as a hood accent, redesigned grille, front bumper guard and black wheels.
