Ozzy Osbourne is Legendary – not necessarily for leading what was arguably the first heavy metal band, but for his farewell tour and then starting another band a few years later. Tim Kuniskis appears to be following in Ozzy’s footsteps as he’s back just a few months after quitting Dodge and Ram Racing.
Kuniskis retired from Dodge and Ram parent company Stellantis earlier this year, just as the Hemi-powered Challengers and Chargers were being phased out. Since then, we’ve been eagerly (?) awaiting the redesigned Charger, which will be available in twin-turbo six-cylinder (Sixpack) and EV (Daytona) versions; in the meantime, the Stellantis-owned American brand has since While it has been wallowing in irrelevance since then, performance enthusiasts are collectively gritting their teeth to see how Dodge will redeem itself.
However, after playing golf for less than six months and praying for a good season for the Lions, Kuniskis returned to Strantis. This time, Kuniskis returns to Ram as CEO. This follows news last week that (former) Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares had resigned. Jeep Global CEO Antonio Filosa said in an interview that he personally reached out to Kuniskis and that Kuniskis’ return “gives a sense that things are getting back on track.” This is not uncertainty about the Chrysler and Dodge brands, but a decline in Ram sales, which fell 24% in the first three quarters of 2024.
Kuniskis succeeds Chris Feuell, who continues to lead Chrysler and will now oversee Alfa Romeo’s North American operations.
